[R&F] Rise and Fall Live Stream General Thread

I’ve been playing chess at the pub for most of the day. So i missed most of quills stream.

Is there anything we can say about changes in Effectiveness on diplomacy and combat AI from the latest streams?

So, there was a fair amount of chopping in Quill's playthrough. Seemed as good as ever (which is never as awesome IME as people crack it up to be). Shaved a few rounds off of the hee-LAR-ious failed attempt at Petra.

Speaking of that Peta attempt, after the Petra city was razed, it wasn't available to re-build. Quill asked if they changed things or if the wonders expire. Anyone know?

Minor Era moments.

At left side panel there is "Snow City". I do not have Civ VI installed at the moment, is that something new? Thanks.

Wow, if Pedro gets the Oracle watch out...

Legions of great artists/writers/musicians running around Russia!!. He's always getting more than he can use. Maybe you should be blocked from getting one if you don't have the appropriate slots (or at least, this could work as a penalty of your GPP generation for these clases: how an artist would like to join you if you have no exposition space for his/her works!)

Looks to be unchanged to me unfortunately.

And yes, not being able to build Petra after being razed is a change. I understand the change though, and it's probably better this way.

In terms of strength, not a big upgrade from rangers. Can whack support units. Take that, medics, your rein of terror is over...?

It's a HUGE upgrade over the Ranger. Range 2 with Sentry, Ambush, and Camouflage is an incredible combat unit. Admittedly it, like most late game units, will come too late to make a big impact, but being able to attack from two tiles away while remaining invisible to your targets is no small thing.

Quill18 managed to build Petra in episode 4 of his Cree game

Made it into a powerhouse city, as well. With the Cree’s UB, those desert tiles were phenomenal. One of them was something like 2 faith, 6 gold, 3 production and 2 food.

BTW, thanks for all your screen captures. Good work, there. :)

Pretty sure yes. And IIRC, Sinan had a much more boring ability before (if they were on the game at all?)

Edit: and if he is new, did he replace someone, or are they adding a fourth person per era and type?
That might be something, but if he's the only extra we have seen so far...

Maybe they removed Yi Sun-Sin because they consider him a possible alternate leader for Korea with Turtle-ship UU in the future? :p

Seems to me they have expanded Great People list. Probably to both accomodate new features and to stretch out, I often noticed that the well ran dry quite qick for my tastes.

Agreed. There never seems to be enough great people. Plus, as you said, they’ll want to add new features.

So apparently some great persons are not meant to be retired especially those that generates loyalty on the city where they are parked. Hmmn.

Does he not get retired, or is that the retirement benefit? I.e., when you retire him in a city, that city has 4 permanent extra loyalty. If he gives 4 loyalty wherever he happens to be at the time, that is super useful if on a conquering spree and you don't want to raze.

Oh right. Might be the retire ability.
