^True. Never realized that before. I might join the ranks in a few years, but only time will tell.

Got startetd around 97 IIRC, a friend showed me the game, just loved every game much better then the last one.

31, I work in production for a company which supplies engineered materials for the construction of various aircraft. I first played civilization 1 on super nintendo because my nephew rented it back in '96

Excuse me, but wasn't this forum about strategy and tips? ;)

59, retired IT consultant, direct and/or bridge tourneys. ... takes a long time to learn these days. Hence I suck at Civ IV

hooked after Civ 3 conquest (complitely)....

34, but will be moving into the next age bracket this Friday.

I finished my PhD in Early Christian Studies last year, and am trying to find a university position in that field (they do exist, but there aren't many vacancies at a time). Meanwhile I'm still doing the job I worked at during my dissertation phase--office work at the National Institutes of Health.

My Civ history started with Civ I in 1993.

Serial Killer; I eliminate angry citizens. :spank:

I dont know for others but Strategy&Tips is the only CIV4 forum I visit these days. I thought it could be fun to share some of our CIV stories here

34, furniture carpenter and props engineer.

While in college, our friend Chris bought Civilization[1]. My roommate and I would spend whole weekends at Chris' place, playing through a single game. Those games would sometimes last over 72 hours

Sean was the "Military Guy", Chris was the "Diplomacy Guy", and I was the "Infrastructure Guy". Sometimes we'd be hung up for an hour or so, debating what to build in a city!

That would have been in 1992, I suppose. Because we were all in college, we could just barely afford a large pizza and a case of beer. My, how things have changed

That was funny. I was doing a summer internship in Philly in 1996. And I had a roommate who is taking summer courses. He would stay up all night playing CIV2, It was unfathomable to me how could anyone do that, so I gave a try myself, and I soon became a complete addict.

I would dream about building the Leo's Workshop the next turn and instantly upgrading my army of knights to calvaries; I used this nice screen shot of Tanks and Paratroopers as desktop on my company computer; During the whole weekends, I was living on BK Whoppers and milk shakes besides playing CIV2...vivid memories.

So now after several job changes and many relationships, one thing remains...
