Rockets red glare

How would your country react?

  • It would mean war. We'd put a stop to it by force if necessary.

  • We'd take no action. We believe diplomacy is the best way to stop the firing of rockets.

  • We'd tell ourselves the rockets arent real, like that 'Gunfight at OK Corral' Star Trek episode.

I would call for immediate congressional hearings so we could better understand what we must have done to cause these people to believe they had no other choice than to shoot missiles at us.

If, and only if, I determined that we did not actually deserve to have the missiles shot at us, I would petition the United Nations to immediately pass a resolution condemning the firing of the missiles.

NOT!

Bozo, I always do enjoy the way you think. :goodjob:

Your question is perfectly valid but its not the topic of this thread. Your inability to realise that makes you look stupid, or loaded:)

 touche!

Well I think then that I owe you an answer.

If rockets were fired at cities of my country, I would like my country to act as if it were a terrorist attack. If that is confirmed (meaning said neighbouring country has nothing to do with it), then launch a police operation with the other countries to catch these guys.
If it is confirmed, however, that the country was behind the attacks, then first of all I'd like to know why. Then negociations. Then if that fails, war (hopefully with the avail of the UN).

But now if this was the umpteenth time that rockets were fired from that little piece of neighbouring country, time for annexion Napoleon-style. :)

Ok, I'm going to be the one saying it:

Am I the only one who tought of the "Red-Rocket" episode of South Park where the kids...you know...! :mischief:

If the rockets were fired with the support or by the government of the neighboring country in question, it is an act of war and any military action to stop rockets from being fired is appropriate.

If the rockets were fired against the will of the government of the neighboring country then there should be a joint effort by both countries to put a stop to it. If the government of the other country does not cooperate or do anything to stop the rockets from being fired then see first paragraph.

I want my country to invade, but we would say:

"Huh? Canada has weapons? Bull I say!"

We may be ticked, but Canada would pose no real threat to America. The same with Mexico (hopefully).

What would be the reaction of your country, if the country next door began regularly firing rockets into your cities?

Bomb the hell out of Quebec City :goodjob:

Mexico is taking us over through subterfuge, no need for weapons ;)

I would approach my local neta to demand that he take the issue to the highest ecahelon of power! The CM Kumarswamy! Praise be unto him and his holy cow.

The neta would of course ignore me and demand an massive bribe. I would then threathan the neta with going to the press and expose his corruption. He would then give in and go the next highest power! This beauracrat too would deamnd a bribe and once more I would have to thrathan him with the press, though it is likely that this neta would have goonda's and I would be a bit roughed up. At any rate it would undobtly reach the ear of HDK.

HDK would bluster, and make a number of threaths and promises. Months would pass and still nothing would be done. There would be a great deal of noise made about it yet it would be ignored and the rocket attacks would continue unabated.

Eventually a group of irate citizens would group together and begin rioting the police and CM will flee in terror as the mobs burn the city to the ground. Eventually the mob would realize thats not helping and would go to the source of the rocket attacks. Then the mobs will sack, loot, rape and pillage Hydreabad and kill the Hydrebadis for firiing rockets into Bangalore and stealing our jobs. All hail the power of the citizenery!

A few decades later Parliment and Supreme Leader Rahul Ghandi will pass a law banning rockets. And all will be well after apolgies are made by the PM to the Hydrebadis for our actions. All hail the glorious and desecive Indian beaurcracy!

Our neighbours are already bombing us with volatile projectiles under the code name "reality television".

CANADA AND MEXICO HAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!! LETS GET'EM!

hehe.

Edit: Seriously though, if say this happened, I would say its time for America to take more land. Then we can get a new state named "New France" or "New Canada" XD j/k

Don't feel bad, I put in a plug for carbon pollution being the same as a very slow and indirect attack on our harbours.

Ouch. Carbon dioxide is one of the ideal byproducts of hydrocarbon emmissions. Before twenty-five years ago, you would have had much more Carbon Monoxide (the reason piping car exhaust into an enclosed space was actually a method of suicide at one time... now you just get bored), and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx), some sulfates, and Carbon particulate emmissions (all contributors to smog) from non-efficient combustion. That has completely changed due to rapid advances in engine technology over the past couple decades.

Now, the idea is to properly combust the gasoline, ideally leaving pure Water vapor (H2O) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) as the only ingredients (sulfur is now largely scrubbed out of the gasoline, and you want to avoid cracking the nitrogen in the air into smog-causing and highly unhealthy NOx). Both H2O and CO2 are very inert (and both are usable substances for plants during photosynthesis).

I agree, it's time to do more to clean up our emmissions, but we no longer have direct health problems caused from well maintained gasoline-powered cars. Now it's a relatively indirect problem contributing to the global warming, though it is growing in impact.

Easy thing, my country doesn't have any weapons capable of retaliating vs. rocket strikes :).

I'd laugh.

Depends. If the attackers were Germans, we would just surrender as usual to avoid further damage to our country.
If it was someone else, we would most probably strike back, especialy if it were Slovaks :mischief:

And, in a show of solidarity even though they weren't threatened, so would the French.

Does that mean that if it was a group of crazies with no connection to the government, youd tolerate the rocket attacks on your cities, and take no action to stop it?

Of course not... But should that action include bombing the hell out of civilian targets/infrastructure in this neighboring country?

For what purpose? It's certainly not accomplishing anything... So if that's the case is it just lashing out in anger because you need to slap SOMEBODY back?

I'm not saying this situation is ALL Israel's fault... but have they actually managed to kill any Hezbolla guerrillas yet? Or mostly just a whole bunch of Lebanese civilians? Further to that... How would you know since they're just dropping a bunch of ordanance from the sky...

I'm not saying just accept a rocket attack.. but for gods sake let's be reasonable about the response. And at least TRY to hit the right people back instead of just blowing everying in sight up without any disregard for the civilian casualties.

Bomb them into the stone age, drive their routed masses before our armies and enjoy the lamentation of their women and children...........

LOL.

No offense, Masquerouge or any other frenchmen here. It's just a cliche joke that had good timing. ;)
