Role Play Challenge: Suleiman the Magnificent and the Battle of the Philosphers

Magnificent Suleiman and the Battle of the Philosophers: Part VII

Another similar round to the last, we simply built more Jans/Trebs/Curassairs and destroyed Al! Time to consider how to end this segment

Techpath: Military Tradition/Economics/Communism/Replaceable Parts/start electricity. Note we are avoiding rifling.

We setup two groups

SulG0001.jpg

Check out the power numbers showing our magnificent army

SulG0002.jpg

And dial up Al our friend.

SulG0003.jpg

I should say he is NOT our friend anymore!

we curched the first 2 Greeks cities

SulG0004.jpg

And popped our next BulbS**tter, er I mean GP

SulG0005.jpg

We bulbed almost all of divine Right.

We then finally get

SulG0006.jpg

And

SulG0007.jpg

Oh yeah, the Greeks! We hit another city splitting the empire which we easily carved up.

SulG0008.jpg

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We captured Athens

SulG0009.jpg

Followed soon by all of the Greek empire. To summarize, we used Spies (the free GSpy we used to infiltrate Al) to reduce culture, used a few trebs to weaken the defenders, and attack the cities with Jans/Curassairs and maybe a few Jumbos/Maces.

Sparta showed a nice surprize

SulG0011.jpg

The Great Lighthouse! And we have yet to tech Corporation!!!!

We capture the last Greek City

SulG0014.jpg

Killing off our 4th BulbS**tter, I mean Philosphical leader.

We then take peace with Justinian, Al's former vassal.

SulG0015.jpg

We saved here after straightening out some cities

The map

SulG0016.jpg

Enough for domination?

SulG0017.jpg

I don't think so. However, if we get Mao to vote for us and increase our cities population a little bit perhaps we can get enough votes from the UN (yes, we can build it) and requires only to finish electricity then tech radio/Mass Media. I think Suleiman would love to hear himself on the Radio and better yet see himself on the TV!

Tech

SulG0018.jpg

Well, to be honest I think we can win this with just Jans even if it requires an intercontinental invasion.

Finally, demographics!

SulG0019.jpg

OK, I say off to the UN while building infrastructre and a navy. Worse case we invade Linclon.

Wow, i think you're quite ahead. Most the AI still doesnt have DR and they usually LOVE that tech. BTW why did you switch to Paganism?

Magnificent Suleiman, KING of the Philosphers!

What an RPC, what a domainating game. And WHAT a Magnificent leader!!! Truely, noone can through arround the BulbS**T like Grand Suleiman!

Domination was well within our grasp and we were in fact loaded and ready, but...

Well let's see.

Techpath for the final segment: Radio/Mass Media/Rifling/Steel/Fission/Constitution/Corporation/Railroad/Combustion

Here you can see the techs everyone else is researching plus the Power numbers.

SulH0000.jpg

For this reason we added rifling into our tech queue

We offered Fred a decent trade to get Constitution and perhaps try and get him into FR for some diplomacy points.

SulH0001.jpg

we popped several GPs here, 2 GSs which we used for Fission and a

SulH0002.jpg

Which we used to bulb Steam Power. We are building the UN in the capital (RPC rules, we are allowed this) and had only 10 turns left so we stayed true to using the GPs only for Bulbing.

Very soon

SulH0003.jpg

And the preliminary results

SulH0004.jpg

As I thought, Mao gives us enough votes for a probable UN victory.

As insurance we have a modest invasion force ready

SulH0005.jpg

To invade anyone we see fit!

Our final BulbS**hitting GP

SulH0006.jpg

The diplomatic win vote

SulH0007.jpg

AND...............

SulH0008.jpg

Victory is ours!

As you can see Suleiman is absolutely delighted

SulH0009.jpg

Some of the statistics for our game.

Power numbers

SulH0010.jpg

Demographics

SulH0011.jpg

And the final polaroid of our Grand leader

SulH0012.jpg

With a grand score!!!!

Hope you all enjoyed this RPC! A rather dominating game here and apparently not much of a challenge. But still, we all need these type games on occasion. Recap to follow.

Next RPC will be Lawless Hammarabi on a Pangea map against the greatest Agressive warlords with the Aggressive AI option on!

RPC recap:

RPC Rules
1) Civics were not much of a problem and in the interest of adding some difficulty we refused to tech Democracy to open up Emancipation! Slavery all the way for our leader.
2) All GPs were used to BULBS**T, one GSpy was used for infiltration, and the GGs were attached to units!
3) No world wonders? Ha, easy. We actually did not build ANY National Wonders either!

Why we won

Well, A strong start, a sappy neighbor, aggressive early settling, and an absolutely Brutal UU!. My opinion on Jans have changed with this game and I think they are definitely one of the strongest! The way that the AI delays education, it's pretty easy to get Gunpowder way ahead of the AI!

Enough for now! Onto Lawless Hammarabi!

finally finished my shadow, conquest is a long process on marathon ;)

Spoiler :

quick recap: i had conquered lizzy and SB, and vassalised alex and peter.

started building galleys. when i got a couple up to northern Russia where my troops were i started ferrying them across to american soil. i attacked, razing eveything until he vassalised also. meanwhile i teched to astronomy and upgraded galleys to galleons. proceeded to move my elephant army to frederick's island. kept half of his cities due to the fact that there were lots of wonders there. fred had spawned a vassal so after i had finished with him, i killed her too, for a conquest win.
