Rollover Problem

Running a Dell M-60, 1.7 GHz Pentium-M, NVidia Quadro FX Go1000, 2 GB system memory. Civ IV version 1.52.

Another thing I've noticed is that rollover data sometimes does not appear, particularly on a city's "what to build next" screen and a "what technology to research next" screen comes up. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. Of course, I can always use right click for full data, but that's more clumsy. Any suggestions?

I am not sure what you mean.

If you build something, it cycles thru move first then goes to build issues.

On the right side icons will appear showing what you have built that turn.

by clicking on them you go to that city and the build for it.

BTW

If you end move premature, it ends production for that city unless you have qued up something.

Have you got 'enable right click menu' selected in game options?

If so then disable it - I discovered this was a bug in the original game and think it may still be there, even with the new patch. Basically you get intermittent rollover info in various game screens when this option is on.

I get this rollover error as well. I *do* have right-click menu enabled, will turn it off and see if it is fixed.
But I also get another error. I am not able to write anything. At all. My keyboard is working fine, I press TAB and try to write but nothing happens. But after like 5 turns I can write again. And after yet another 5 turns I can't write. Strange huh?

(Note that the number of turns is a guessed value.)

OK so not to beat a dead horrse BUT....

I STILL have this problem. Monthes ago I stopped playing the game to allow the minor glitches and irritations to get worked over, including (So I thought) this one. But yet after two Major patches including a bunch of questionable issues like gunships using railroads(??) the bug (because yes it is a bug) I was having has still not been addressed. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the oil right?

Anyways still an issue. When using right mouse click menu(No I will not just not use this feature, I prefer it in the game I bought so I won't settle for not using a feature) I lose all rollover text, I have to click on the popups to get focus instead of hitting 'enter' or whatnot and it just seems to be screwed up. It seems to arise just when I have loaded a game-a new game seems to have rollovers and such.

Anyways a fix would be nice. Firaxis? Are you listening?

Yeah, it vanishes sometimes. No solution known, afaik.

bump. noticed if you click with the right mouse button anywhere on the map, the rollover stuff starts working again. seems to help with keyboard input as well, when naming a saved game or whatnot. still pretty annoying.
