Opinions are always legitimate when discussing a matter of opinion. The opinion that chocolate ice cream tastes better than strawberry is legitimate. The opinion that the Sun orbits the Earth is not.

That some people say Russia's returning to Communism despite having a flat tax but we're turning Socialist because of a more progressive tax structure.

I guess the path from Capitalism to Socialism to Communism runs on a Laffer curve-esque tax scheme... capitalism = flat, socialism = progressive, communism = flat.
