Sad misconceptions in todays world!

I am a bit confused about the thread.

Is this a thread to list what you think are sad misconceptions?

Or is this a thread to point at others sad misconceptions and then comment how crazy/wrong those viewpoints are in your opinion?

Because I see value in the first one....and all I see in the other is trouble.

I'm not sure what the value is in the first one either, since all anyone is doing is listing opinions or beliefs that they disagree with/think are wrong.

At least its cathartic to some degree.

Getting drunk is a funny thing to do.

(In fact you're poisoning you nervous system)

Two new misconceptions:

  • There is no reason to say that Iwarpus is the illegitimate grandson of an alligator.
  • Pelé was better than Maradona.

That one is true. The older you get, the more you realise that it is a true stament, not a misconception.

What if parents have a hermaphrodite as a child? What if they destory the child's vagina? What if the child is raised as a biological boy, but mentaly is a girl? In that case parents most certainly do not make the right decision.

Well, actually, it's not a misconception, as that's in the past. After Maradona became a player, it became obvious that Maradona is better than Pelé. :mischief:

Actually Pelé is impossible to beat. It would disobey the laws of Physics! Even if some kind of paradox happens, only a Brazilian can still become better. :p

O mais grande do mundo?

Ooh, misconceptions:
Attacking someone's beliefs is the same as calling them names.

An incorrect or illogical belief is worthy of respect simply because someone believes it.

Bringing up an objection to a scientific principal, no matter how unevidenced or trivial, means there are now two "sides" that deserve equal credence.

Yes!!! You've finally accepted it!

It's Central European at best, TLO :)

I never said it wasn't Central European. Never said it was Western European (even though it's closer to the West than the East).

btw 12,000th post. :D
