i'm not sure if i understand...also, i forgot to add the nlf infantry to the biq. but i would make sure that its stats are a little lower than the vietcong b/c they weren't equipped as well

maybe i'll try and add the buildings into the biq and put aside the graphics for them.

@AK: do you have any ideas for those building graphics?
 
hey i was thinking that you could start the game with the Austrailians involved as they did fight in the Vietnam war at the beginning as did the French, but when they pulled out was when the Americans went in, so perhaps you could have the Austrailians involved at the beginning, as we do already have Anzac riflemen for PTW.

well, the australians went in WITH the americans and pulled out before the us (i think). the koreans (south) also contributed troops.
it's an interesting idea to add these civs but our map won't allow it. no enough space. we could make a building that auto-produces australian foot units. dunno though.

i do know that the australians are tough dudes and fought their tails off in vietnam. this is from an actual US Marine Corp vet who fought alongside w/ the aussies:goodjob:
 
well im british and we shamefully decided that it wasnt our business, but hey i guess were making up for it in Iraq now. thouugh ilove the Aussies, theyre so great and i really want to emigrate to Austrailia when i get my degree.
 
oh and i was thinking you could add kinboats modern soldier as an ARVN soldier, you could perhaps change the skin colour to be more asian and youd have a pretty good regular South Viet-Nam grunt.
 
yeah, the brits respectfully declined to participate in the vietnam debacle. better for 'em b/c you guys may have known more than us americans about the perils of a land/guerilla war in se asia. aussies are cool. love the accent, too.
 
I don't have anything to report. Justo was working on the file. I suppose Luddi will work on it next ? We can't have more than 1 of us working on separate versions at the same time... that would be a big mess.

Luddi, I sent you the icnos for VC & SA7. As I suppose you'll be working on the file next, can you add them ?

Prison camp graphics exist, so does TV station, newspaper is easy to make, I'll definitely make a soviet aid when I find some time. But other than the Soviet Aid small wonder, I don't see what stats to give these building ????

my first guess would be to make them generate happiness and/or culture in the cities which they are built. no? for the pow camp, maybe flag added production. are we emphasizing culture flipping? if so, we need to have buildings that produce happiness and culture for each of the 3 flavors.

i posted the following graphics up on yahoo briefcase:

buildings: tv station & radio station (1 file i think), perimeter defenses (upgrade from 'walls', it has barbed wire, etc), brothel (requires gogo bar to build) and prison camp (POW camp for our purposes i guess).

i also posted some unit graphics: katyusha (soviet rocket installation which could be a unit buildable after the 'soviet aid' tech is discovered by the commie flavor). as for it's stats/flags (3A/4D/1M & 13 bombard w/ 2 sq range), check the readme within the file; i used exactly what the creator had suggested.
i hadn't noticed that you already had 'green beret' in already. this is posted as well. i'll take it down from briefcase later i suppose.

i also started writing civilopedia entries for these where they did not exist.

i guess i'll volunteer to do any civilopedia entries if it's required. there's nothing like a nice, juicy civilopedia entry IMO :D

also, ixnay on the great wonders, right? just small wonders?

Radio Station you can not use, as that's already used as "propaganda station"
Brothel is already used as "Gogo bar"
 
how about giving the POW camp resistant to propaganda. And taking away "resistant to propaganda" that's standard for Democracy govt ?
 
when it is civs that I names The Allies, I use to count with all the civs that are The Allies.If we had named s vietnam to The Allies that could included USA og Australia.So Australia could be included in the game as a part in The Allies' civ.

yeah, in theory, australia could be included. but there's no space on the map for the australian continent. unless we make island cities to the south for them. or we could have a building auto-produce australian units but what happens when the other non-SEATO flavor civs build it? if anything, we could rename certain US units as australian units. that's probably the easiest way to deal with this. south korea and new zealand also had a military presence.

this won't work. i've tried it with other mods and even if you assign the building to a specific flavor (ie SEATO), the other civs will eventually build it and subsequently auto-produce australian units:eek:

on the other hand, if you have plenty of flags for the auto-producing building (like a certain advance and a certain govt, etc), then it may be possible. but that's a 'big' maybe. it's almost impossible to predict what the AI will or will not build. even with the flavors.

what does ak say?
 
also, it appears that Ukas is in the process of making 'Cafe' graphics for us. we could make this a prerequisite for gogo bar. i'll continue to work w/ the buildings until we are all satisfied. someone else should work on the techs and somebody else on the small wonders. no?
 
make the building a great wonder then give it to the U.S or you can have the building require a resource like "australian units" and put the resource in the U.S area. then the U.S can only build the buildings therefore they only get the unit. let me no what you guys think.

btw I have done this and it works.
