btw I have done this and it works.

hey, that's crafty... i hadn't thought about the 'required resource' flag. that would work!

now, what would the building be called?

australian reinforcements, maybe?

here is the link to zulu9812's units 32

admittedly, it took me a while to cycle through all of the options. many of the added units for this scenario are among the "1000+" images. also, i wrote down all of the #'s for the units if anyone wants them.

shall we eventually attempt to experiment with the "Land Mine" units?

here is the readme text from Hunter's "Worker Land Mine" unit:

After seeing the great work by pesoloco and hiddenpix I tried to make them work but the AI never realy used them the way I hopped. So after some time I came up with a simple design that looks like it should. I have used the Modern worker as the Default and part of the Fortify .flc's thus making the mines move and when they do,well... I feel that its right. I also made two rows of mines to represent a field of them and since I have never got them to disapear after a battle, the worker explains where the new mines come from.
In short this is hardly a new unit but rather a new configeration in the hopes of getting mines to be an efective and cheap unit.
In game stats:
Cost:4
M:1 A:1 (nesasary for the AI) D:10 - 13
HP bonis: -5(a must, this prevents the mines from becoming vets)
Foot Unit Flag
Optional Stats:
Air Drop
Hidden Nationality (I recomend that if you use this use Ivisable since the AI will hunt any unit with this flag)
Invisable (you cant see the battle same as subs)
Bombard:5 (with out the bombard box checked represents the units in the same square are surounded defensivly by mines)
the download is on page 27 of Lab Monkey's unit library

sticking with the land mine topic, we could incorporate a "Mine Sweeper" unit to counter the land mine. make it see invisible and/or stealth attack on land mines.
i guess it would be worth trying it out to see if it would work or make a difference in-game.

Yes we try it.It's worth to try.Do you know any graphics for a "Mine Sweeper".I shall take a little check in the unit graphics forum.

i dunno. i seem to have a naval "Mine Sweeper" (type 42 destroyer) in my Art folder but not a foot unit. i guess we can look around. i'm sure one of the sites has graphics that are, at the least, close

Maybe we could have a regular tank as a "Mine Sweeper".It could have some special mine sweeping equipment in the front.

i was thinking more along the lines of a foot unit guy with a sort of metal detector instrument...kind of like a 'combat engineer'. but a mechanized unit would work, too.

It could be two "MS" units. One early in the game, that could be the foot unit, and one late in the game, that could be the mechanized unit. The mechanized unit could have a better efficiency.
