Scenario Request Thread

I haven't seen one, but i'll check again. :)

thanks, i'll look into it. :)

aye. :)

I think that it would be interesting to have a scenario/ mod that is kind of like a virus or something attacking a body. you can use different virus like Influenza and Tuberculosis and you can play either the, attacking the body or the body defending against the viruses.

the cities could be organs, and there would be a system like in Planetfall called "Human awareness" and if it gets to a certain point anti-virus units would appear, and other things like that.

What do you guys think?

How about a formation of Rome type scenario, perhaps using some of the modding done for RFC... historical events, etc...
I envision it on a HUGE Europe map, including the Med & N. Africa, and the Near East...
This would be similar to Total War: Rome, having the 3 major houses (Julii, Brutii, Scipii) of the ancient empire starting, with a senate in Rome, etc. At some point, the houses go into conflict, etc...
But, this should not limit you to being Rome, though Rome's superior military and techonology would make winning with a Roman faction much easier.

Civs:
Greek States
House of Brutii
House of Julii
House of Scipii
Carthage
Gauls
Macedons
Germanic Tribe
Britainic
Sassanids/Parthia (may be screwed up here historically, but whoever was in charge of Persia)
Hellenstic state of the Near East (Seuclids, etc)
Thracians
Scythians
Armenians
The Ponte (Turkey, may be screwed up here too)
Egypt

I would be happy to help out by creating fully flavored civs to add, though as far as the scenario goes, I wouldn't even know where to begin.
Anyone interested in spearheading this?
Does this already exist? (Not including Rome Total War of course!)

ack, and i just got my mits on Rome: Total war!!! XD
might as well ask for a mod/scenario based on that. :P

Yeah, it is basically that... but the infrastructure/civ building is lacking in TW... though the combat side is intense and great!

Ideally, I would like to see Civ5 add many of the aspects of the TW series, and maybe a bit from EU also (like discovering new lands and attrition for navies, etc).

aye it is. :)

that would be nice, but not quite civ. ;P EU?....

I would like to see a scenario set on a map of Africa, where you would play as either the Egyptians, the Ethiopians, the Malinese, or the Zulu. There would also be a lot of "barbarian" cities representing other historical African kingdoms (Ashanti, Kongo, Nubia, etc.). Both barbarians and playable civilizations would use African-flavor units and buildings.

EU = Europa Universalis
It has some nice functions in it, but is inferior overall to both Civ and TW series. The nice functions are, as mentioned above, attrition for naval units... which means, you can't just leave a ship out on the seas without pulling into a friendly port every so often...
They also have an interesting system for trade, where your merchants compete with others in the several "financial centers" of the world, which change as the map does... example, mediterranean trade becomes less powerful after the New World starts taking off, and markets in the New World start to appear.

ah, interesting. :)
always kinda bugged me that i could have just one ship explore the whole world without stopping for supplies.

Hi, just looking for some scenarios recommendation. Kinda looking for sorta resource "bountiful" ones if possible and that the end time for the game is the end of time. (If Earth maps, 18+civs please) By the way I am running BTS 3.17 and if mods are required please let me know which ones.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I think this is quite possibly one of the best ideas out there.

It would be a MOD, though, not a scenario.

i like the total war idea of making units, at the same time
make buildings, it is a mod already with this

An Alternate History/Science Ficton book dealing with a no Muslim world(Muhhammad converted to Christianity on a trading trip to Syria, later joined a monestary, and composed great hymns, eventually becoming the Cardnial of New Carthage, and a saint), and how the Byzantine Empire(They call themselves Roman, as we all know they did), flurished, and was ale to reconquer Hispania, Southern France from the Franks, and Italy.

Thus, their only rival is really Persia, and China. The Franks are powerful also, but not too. The Anglo-Saxon England, since there was no Norman Conquest, is a sometimes ally of Byzantium.

Here's a link to a map: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ed/Argyros_map.png

I'm not sure what to do about India, Japan, Korea, ect. seeing as it's set in the 1300s (1305, to be exact) Perhps just go with their real history, just without any Islamic influences or civlizations? Enlarged Europe Map would be perfect.

I got this. Im going to add 2 tribes in russia east + west. The Alans are going to persia and India will be Gupta under Ashoka. Britian will be unified. The mongols will be above china. Korea will be Chinese as it sometimes was. The franks will have spain
Heres the list of Civs:
Franks (Holy Rome)
Byristine
Persia (called Sasanian at the time, so thats what Ill call it) Cyrus
China
Jurchen (ottomen)
Kyrgyzstan (Greek)
East nomadic (Peter)
West Nomadic (Other Russian leader)
Berber Tribes (Barbarian)
Umayyads (Saltin) NO ISLAM WILL BE JEWISH
Omenic (Hamarubbi) CHRISTIAN
Ethiopia CHRISTIAN
Indonesia (Portuguese)
Japan
Aztec
Inca
Native American
Set to marathon speed
WARS Umayyads+Omenic
East and west Russian tribes.
Franks and byristine

Enlarged Europe map.
Aggressive AI
Raging Barbarians
Permanant alliances enabled.

1) To Techathon : when your 18 Civs Alternative Earth will be finished, it is a no-mod scenario ?

Because i'm on a mac, which not handle more than 18 Civs...

2) I would like an alternative earth, where the splitting of 395 AD wasn't enacted...

Or an alternate 2000 AD

Could you techathon, make that ? you could create a thread called Alternatives Earths with alternatives earths scenarios... At diiferents epochs but with no mods please...

Lachlan if you're interested I think there is a way to install Vista on Mac computers or even Windows XP. It would take a little research but it could help you when getting mods on your computer to work. Just a thought, hope it helps. ;)
