SGOTM 02 - Team CFR

Just look on save: we can see somebody's borders SE from Kyoto, but... our borders can't reach them...

True! Hard to notice. If their borders expand 1 more time we can reach them by Galley and Open borders. But I think Caravel will be sooner.

OK, I played my 10 turns...
First of all I switched Kyoto to Lighthouse because we forget about decreasing of happiness when Palace will be moved to Osaka. After 8 turns I pop-rushed it and then during 15 turns we need to oscillate second citizen to/from scientist for zero growth (if we set 2 scientists we have -3 food).

Positions of guarding Warriors are OK, so I move only northern one who explores Madrid zone. Madrid built Great Scientist at 565BC and rush some science (I need more time for analyse but Spain got +10 points). Also Madrid has Horses and Copper in its radius but none roads!

One worker from Tokyo went to Sheeps near Edo (and build road for one turn right from Sheeps), built Pasture then built road left from Sheeps for connection to Capital and increasing Swords movement. New Worker from Edo started Farm on Wheet, Edo is building Barracks.

Tokyo comleted Library and Barracks, started Swords. Tokyo's Worker choped 2 forests and strted 3-d because Sheeps is not available yet.

And, of course, Osaka built Palace and Barraks, statred Swords. Our economy was improved but not so much as I want (joke)...

South Barbs city produced Worker so they are very clever guys!

In 670BC Pyramids was built and Confucianism has been founded in a distant land...

Next step I think we need to capture South city and promote our Swords, then... road to Spain is free...

Science is still on Machinery.

P.S. Forgot to say we killed Barbs Archer on SW.

Great!
Kyoto: with oscillating scientist we get GPP 4.5*13 + 6*x = 135, totalling 26 turns, which is balanced with 28- turns for Machinery.
Spain seems to have obtained roads only recently (~20 turns ago) and BW - during last 10 turns. They have very few workers, though I doubt any rush can hekp us cut them from horses and copepr. We need to mix some axes in.
As Spain has Writing, they shoud have discovered Maths (flavour 10)

Now it's necessary for us only three warrior in our antibarbs line of defense!
Eastern near Cordoba, 2 near Edo SW and SE.

The others should finish investigation of continent at coastal lines!

What opinions concerning military logistic are?
If Cordoba or Sevilla will captured among the first it will be possible to pop-rush one or two galleys.

Dynamic: Good job as always!

Even though Madrid sits on stone, Isabella wasn't the one to complete the Pyramids. Unfair! Unfair! :)

The Yayoi barbarians continue to be the perfect neighbors. Maybe we could withdraw our warrior for a while so they'd build an improvement for us.

As we're giong to have swordsmen very soon, why don't we stop unfogging the clams/iron city spot. And our SE warrior can move 1W to eliminate fog there.

5 turns later Osaka will expanded borders and fog disappered...

For now it seems like everything is fairly straightforward: build a bunch of swords, take the barb city and then attack Spain. But remember that we also need to start generating two more GSs. I think we need to hire scientists in both Tokyo (not the perfect city for this, but already has library) and Edo, but I am not sure when is the right time.

I think we should try to build the Colossus in Yayoi, we'll have plenty of coastal cities after conquering Spain.

We should also explore the coast around the continent ASAP, there might be other landmasses reachable by galleys like in previous game, if we do find another continent, we may change our plans a bit (in that case we won't need to start working on GSs for Astronomy so soon).

I doubt we have way for Galleys...
And about GS... may be we haven't time for 4 and must use only 3...
In any case, we need Code of Lows for Courthouses and, may be for Caste System. I think we will spend our 2 GS for Compass and Optics, build Caravel and try to trade at least Calendar and Code of Lows (If we will have luck Alphabet also)...

The Colossus will obsolete with Astoromy. It's not effective idea!

Really, may be conquest Spain first of all and THEN take Yayoi? Barb's improvemen may be useful for us.

I think, that it will be better to make improvement ourselves. Who knows how will barbs will make it? The earlier we take it - the earlier we'll improve.

Will play tomorrow or friday.

IMHO We will need Galleys for exploration and war logistics.
For exploration we can use land units, if there's further way, you'll see it.

Of course we want to capture it as soon as possible. I only suggest us to stop scaring their worker for the short time our swordsmen are getting in position, so they'd have time to possibly build one improvement.

Yes, maybe, but it is still quite difficult to tell. We can research CS while waiting for the 4th scientist and then switch reserch to comething else or stop it at all once we have 1 turn left. It takes a long time to generate the 4th GS, but it will also take a long time for us to finish machinery and research CS an whatever techs we cannot get from AI.

I think we should switch production to a library in Edo now. Then once Edo and Tokyo grow to size 4 we should hire two scienitsts in both cities. We have plenty of forests to chop, which should give enough swords to kill Spain. I think we need about a dozen. I think we should chop the forest before mining hills, because we will be using scientists now.

I don't think Caste System is a good idea, we'll have many cities with low production but high food after conquering Spain.

I think the better to use at least Tokyo for production, not for science. 2 Scientists aren't enough for fast growth 3-d and 4-th GL, we need more Scientist in 1 or 2 cities. So we need to find such cities. One is Cordoba, the question what is the second. Of course, swithing between civics is not fine, but effect from multiple scientists even without Library could be grater.
Now we need about 10 Swords/Axes ASAP, then this army can fight for a long time while we will build Libraries and so on.
