SGOTM1-Persia Maintenance Thread

My original suggestion was intended to refer to ruthless deletion of spam in the designated scores and saves thread. You could retain this thread for maintenance, annoouncements and inter-team discussions.

I still think that's the best arrangement. As the team "admin" (I hesitate to say "leader") it only takes me a couple of minutes to post a roster update after each player posts a turn log, and to post an edit to add our latest save-link and score to my post here. Why is that such a big deal?

I would have thought you could be given mod power specifically for this sub-forum to delete anything other than a team leader post in the scores and saves thread.

The incentive to give you the scores and saves will be that games will not be registered, recognised, added to any graphs or results until this is done. This should result in revolutions and palace coups in teams where leaders fail to deliver. :D

is it at all possible for the GoTM staff to develope a seperate page for uploading saves, similar to the GoTM submittal page?
That's work in progress, and will probably be in place for the next SGOTM.

grahamiam: I guess if the SGOTM format is popular enough then the effort required to implement your idea would be worthwhile and some kind member of the staff might make it happen.
People could just submit their saves which would update a chart on a web page automatically.

I work with saves because it's easier for me for losts of reasons - all of them boring.

Whoops X-posted with the kind member of staff :D

ok, just suggestions. i'm sure you have some sort of automated process going. if it's .sav's you need, then that's what you'll get :) imho, AlanH's suggestion seems best but i'm no software wizard so whatever works for you, let us know @ Team Bugs and we'll do it.

glad to see AlanH's reply regarding the new site [dance] imho, this will be the right way to solve this problem and will probably lead to even greater participation.

Mad-bax - Could you please reply to the last post by I. Larkin in the Staff thread.
Thanks for reply, unfortunately it was too late or my team mates ignore it.
I did not get answer to first queston:
Is it allowed to check Diplo with enemies and say:
"Forget it." when they beg for peace.
We somehow manage to do without that, but for next...

Hmmm, here's our save:
F8 says a score of 89 at 2150BC.

Ivan. This is allowed. So you can call up diplo to see how much money they have and what techs etc.

You are right - the AW rules need clarification. I'll put a little more effort into it next time.

On another note, I've been messing around with the colours and backgrounds for the score charts to try and make them more legible. I think they are better, but the jpegs are bigger so the page takes longer to load.

What do you think? Keep the changes or dump 'em?

I like the new chart. Just to tell you that team Akots will be done soon so our line is going to go off the charts. That might create problems with other teams seeing there scores.

Team Akots Victory save. 370 BC
Score 7434. (That is going to make the graph hard to read.)
:D :king: [dance] :ninja: [party]

Here is the save from TeamJeff at 2150BC.

Score is 58.

Team-X scores and saves will continue to be updated in my listing post unless you want to change this.

Well done Team acots.
