GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Got to the polling station about 22 minutes before the polls opened. I was #2 in line for my ward. Everybody waiting (about 60 or so by 6am) was jabbering and having a grand old time. Kinda awesome feeling. Anyway, got in, voted, and snapped some pics of my ballot which totally violates MO law but I don't care and I'll take the punishment for it if they want to bust me.

Now, it's election day so time for partisan hackery is over. We're America, by God, and regardless of who wins, that's our President. Don't always agree, that's fine, but keep in mind that regardless of who wins, neither man is going to destroy our nation, okay? They just have differing visions of how to go forward and that's what we decide today. May God bless America and bless you all as well.

EDIT: I realize this is tavern and I can only plead to y'alls decent nature, but can we not derail this into conversations about the united nations or about libertarian wet dream candidates? Thank you.

Here's my ballot.

Btw, sorry, I hit submit instead of preview right after "God Bless America" which is why you early viewers probably thought I'd gone off my rocker :D

And  at Cami. That only happened once, btw :) And no, other than my waiting because I showed up before the polls opened, I zipped right through. Though had a helluva time taking those pictures without anyone noticing.

Why isn't Jill Stein in your ballot?

I don't know. I was rather surprised by the limited choice that made it to the ballot this year for the Presidential race. We usually have more than 2 '3rd' parties. I guess they didn't hit the signature limit required?

Did a little due diligence and discovered it was indeed because they failed to achieve enough signatures.

If you live in Nevada, North Carolina, Missouri, Montana, South Dakota, or Nebraska, we're sorry, we were unable to get enough petitions for ballot access and we are ineligible for write-in status.

What "write-in status" means is something I myself just learned a couple of weeks ago. I was curious why my write-in for Romney in 2008 never showed on any official vote totals. I went by the local consolidated GOP campaign office and they were not sure either so we called our county clerk. Apparently even for a write-in, you have to have registered yourself as an eligible write-in candidate for it to matter.

Lines were long shortly after polls open at 7. I have the day off, packing for a trip to see my family, so I'll come back at 10am.

I did early voting, so I don't have to vote today.

mailed my ballot in (Edit: last) tuesday; got there in time (my state just has to be in by 7 pm election day) and you can check online that they received it.

not much to it.
