SheepNES: Modern Battlefields: MAIN THREAD

From UK
To the international community.

Overall the war in Afghanistan is going well and we are trying to crush the Taliban. However we need help and co-operation from everyone. Many of us has been struggling threw this difficult times and I now all has been pulling there weight. Canada has been taking the brunt of it in Afghanistan's southern provinces and I commemorate there soldiers and honor everyones fallen. We have to sit down with Pakistan and find a way to control there border to stop the Taliban from going back and forth with no obstacles. The United Kingdom will be dedicating more soldier to Afghanistan and its southern provinces as well the border with Pakistan. We hope that if we lead with example more will follow and help us with this cause. So therefore we ask the international communities for support for this cause.

As a former command to Allied forces in Afghanistan, Turkey empathizes with the UK and is willing to contribute troops again.

We trust Pakistan, a country that always had good relations with Turkey, will watch our backs by increasing the security on their side of the border.

To USA

We are happy to be your allies in the war on terror, which we ourselves have been involved for over two decades now. We are willing to assist any anti-terrorism operation, as long as it does not involve occupying another country. We had deeply appreciated your promise of commitment in the removal of terrorists from Northern Iraq.

Regrettably, your inability to act on this matter is becoming increasingly evident. America’s failure in combating PKK terrorism despite all reassurances and promises is the primary reason for the anti-American sentiment in our country.

Consequently, we might not feel the need to leave the opportunity to your hands the next time the terrorists are vulnerably exposed, even if the opportunity is in Northern Iraq.

Look,

As we are long-time allies, it is OK to tell us if you are unable to redirect personnel and resources to what you might see as secondary goals (combating PKK), from those more important to you (security in central Iraq). We really don’t mind doing our part in the war on terror by hitting PKK targets, even when you are tied up elsewhere. That’s what allies are for.

Good luck! ;) Will lurk here in the meantime. Would've joined, but all the nations I wanted were taken before I even noticed.

Thanks for the support. If you like I could make you a head of the FSB or the intelligence? Hell I'm in need of good advisors ;)

Thanks for the link, however most of the stuff is not that great, unless I am missing something big :mischief:

Vladimir Putin congratulates Segolene Royal with her win in the French Presidential Elactions. Putin doesn't say that twice. Got the hint? [before you all jump, me this was OOC :p ]

OOC: Gelion, have you halted oil supplies to Belarus (and at the same time cutting supplies to Germany) much the same as Russia is doing currently?

If so, we have some statements to throw at you ;)
I dont know what .... stuff your media is feeding you with, but IIRC its the Belorussians that started taking extra gas destined for Western Europe. Also as far as this NES is concerned Byelarus is yet to start doing this. So :p

Sheep your rules tell us nothing about how much units cost. How do we upgrade the army without a price.

There are no set costs. Military units futhermore will not be allowable for use until the turn after they are purchased. You may only use what is shown on your stats for this turn. What are on the stats for the next turn and so on.

Does this make sense or need I explain it more?

to UN

We would like to propose the talks regarding the Cyprus problem to resume. As we deeply appreciated the efforts of previous holders of the office, we will welcome constructive efforts from the new Secretary General.

From Germany:

We would like to discuss the possibilty of helping each other with this high speed internet plan. We believe the idea is important and would like to do the same, as such we see no reason why we should do so alone. Let us work on this together, with your telecommunications expertise and our... monetary assets, it could well make the process easier for the both of us.

Luxembourg has enough funds to complete the internet project by itself. Nevertheless, it welcomes this chance for greater cooperation with Germany. Luxembourg would be glad to partner with Germany on this project and standardize systems, provided that Luxembourgish telecommunications companies are given equal weight in the contract-bidding process.

OOC: Stealing my thunder? :p

OOC: Sorry not trying to... soon you shall recieve a PM should help ease the pain i think...

Germany understands and appreciates Luxembourgs decision to allow us to assist and be assisted. We look forward to working together further.

OFFICIAL PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE WHITE HOUSE
JANUARY 21, 2007

Bush_Speech.jpg

President Bush has announced today his new plan regarding action in Iraq, the chief components of which are a brief increase in U.S. troop presence in Iraq beginning in early February and concluding with a return to present levels by November, at which time Iraqi security forces will be placed in control of all domestic security concerns with American forces assuming a "directed-engagement mission" in assistance of hardened targets. In the words of the President, "a [...] short-term increase in troop strength is essential to providing the groundwork necessary for Iraqi security forces to assume control of major security operations in Iraq by identifying and eliminating [...] key terrorist strong-points."

The President went on to say that a new public relations initiative was also crucial in the war on terrorism in Iraq, stating "education is the key weapon in fighting the war on terror; education on the ideals of democracy, compassion for one's fellow man, and understanding, are all crucial in combating the ignorance and intolerance that forms the base of the Iraqi insurgency and sectarian violence."

The President has also announced intentions to visit with key members of Congress as part of an initiative to negotiate the necessary legislation to put through such a measure.

President Bush has recently returned from meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and has commented on what he feels to have been a highly successful dialogue. "The United States and Russia share much in common, not least of all a desire to look forward and continue the march of progress," said the President regarding his meeting. The meeting in Moscow covered a wide-range of topics, from the North Korean nuclear situation to space exploration and American basing of forces in former Soviet Republics.

Among the most notable of the achievements of the meeting was the signing of the Treaty of Space Friendship between the United States and Russia, pledging greater cooperation and coordination of space exploration, among other space-related subjects. The President remarked "The United States is [...] very interested in having Russian technical skill working with NASA on both our ongoing preparations for a follow-up moon landing in 2018, and further, longer range goals."

Also of note was an agreement regarding the involvement of Russia in the operation of American forward bases in former Soviet Republics with host consent in order to reconcile the interests of both countries and pave the way for further future relations. Both President Bush and President Putin have expressed a sense of satisfaction with the meeting and are expected to announce a future date for a new round of talks in the upcoming months.

We wish to invite the President of the United States on an offical state visit to China. The things that we wish to disscuss are the current on going six party talks, economic issues, and space exploration.

The United States would be more than welcome to the reception of forces from NATO ally and long-time friend Turkey, provided that the nation of Iraq itself agrees. We have forwarded your suggestions to the Iraqi Foreign Minister.

Our comment is only valid for Northern Iraq (we'll send a communique regarding this sensitive issue next month or so). Even if Iraq agrees to our help, the conflict in the rest of the country is based on Sunni-Shia separation. Despite our impartial intentions to their conflict, it is unavoidable that Iraqis will see us as a side to it, as we are of the Sunni branch of Islam.

It seems our assistance will be limited to Lebanon and Afghanistan at the moment... OOC: or is it? switching to UN list.

The Twenty-Ten Promise

Spokesman from Egyptian Government

It is this administrations imperative to end our necessity on foreign aid. Already we are over 30 billion dollars in debt and we must start action. Our plan in multi fold, first we must modernize out infrastructure. This includes particularly modernization of our power grid, and our road systems. The goal of the former will be the institution of the National Egyptian Power and Electricity Ministry whose main job will be to provide cheep electricity to even the most remote villages and building new power facilities, including a new large hydro-electric facility slightly south of Luxor, that will be on similar scale as that of the Aswan High Dam. The later part of this goal will be completed by the National Egyptian Road, Train and Ship Ministry. This ministry will build a number of bridges in important areas over the Nile and create paved road networks over the entire country. Both of these ministry's main overarching goal is to connect the entire nation, and for everyone to have the opportunity to take part of the national and even world economy.

The second goal of the project will be to open the country up more to tourism and foreign investment. This will be accomplished by the creation of numerous commissions to find and implement ideas with the approval of the government of Egypt. Obviously this cannot be easily accomplished without a stable economy. This will require greater government control of market, particularly inflation and interest rates, via the expansion and publication of national bank of Egypt.

The third goal will be to expand the educational system, particularly the foundation of a large number of technical schools that will teach crafts and will be mostly established in small cities and towns. These will be designed and receive large amounts of government money so they can issue scholarships to those who are unable to attend normally to learn the craft. This will help to end the cycle of poverty and noneducational in the countryside.

All of these are aimed to get as many member of the population involved in the economy at the national level and thereby improve our country as a whole.

It gets rounded up.

to Egypt

If your construction projects are open to foreign companies, some of Turkish firms may be interested in the biddings. Turkish companies have a lot of experience in dam construction, as Turkey has 21 hydroelectric power plants above 100MW, with 16 more under construction. Of these, 3 existing and three under construction are above 1GW.

Our investors are interested in opportunities in Egypt, and would like to be a part of growing economy of Egypt following some improvement of your economy, similar to their increased investments in Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kirghizstan.

In a press statement released earlier today Chancellor Angela Merkel plans were revealed for Germanies future.

"The world we live in is changing, that is an understatement. The world we live in is Evolving, in leaps and bounds the human race is charging forward. And Germany will not be left behind.

This year our education system is recieving a considerable investment as is our industrial base. Germanies capability to compete in this modern world will not be in question. Nor will our quest to take on the future with our eyes open.

The European Space Agency has recently met with stunning success. Of this there is no doubt, but we believe space has much more to offer. Germany and its friends in Europe are commiting themselves to forwarding a space program that has not been seen before.

We are going to land on the moon... and then we are going to live on it. We believe that with Earths growing population, colonisation of far off worlds is only a matter of time and where best to star than with our own moon. Of course we have to make it inhabitable. This will take time and research but the benefits far outweigh the costs.

Not only will we be preparing new homes, but with the research we make into making the unhospitable livable, we can help improve our world and save it from the dangers of global warming."

While some believe the idea of colonising the moon is ludicrous, others welcome the plan.
" The benefits this research will create for our world alone are worth the cost. Besides there are far worse things the government could be spending its money on."
