SheepNES: Modern Battlefields: MAIN THREAD

Football (Soccer) is clearly the greatest game mankind has ever known and all i can say is thank god the world cup attacks were foiled...

Canuck we need to discuss things i think...

Australia has committed herself. We will withdraw when Indonesia recognises that the nations of Papua New Guinea and West Papua have sovereignty over the whole of New Guinea/Irian Jaya, and the union of both halves of Timor, pending referenda. Until that time, we fight on, in whatever way, shape or form necessary. The idea of the offensive actions were to force the Indonesians to recognise these things early, before a protracted war.

This is ludicrous. You are first helping separatists of West Papua in your sovereign neighbor of Indonesia. Then you try to artificially merge two regions of Timor that has no relation to each other, speak different languages, and have been unified only for a couple of decades in the last several centuries, you are inviting a mini-civil war on the island.

If it were a moral obligation, as you suggest, to exact local people's will; then you would have supported Chechens in Russia, Tibet in China, TRNC in Cyprus, and many other independence movements in the past decades all over the world. Therefore this is obviously an excuse for you to invade one of your neighbors.

We see no point in further discussing this issue of you acting outside all internationally acceptable behavior, until you come to your senses.

As I said regarding Timor, "pending referenda". If, post referendum, West Timor should choose independence, or to return to Indonesia, then so be it, that is their right. As for the point regarding seperatist movements, I (OOC: Kevin Rudd, remember that Howard's gone) have only been Prime Minister as the Chechen conflict wound down to it's conclusion and the Cypriots began, and completed, the process of reunification. As for Tibet, it is the policy of this government that if the Tibetan people seek recognition, they will have it. However, they have not approached us, as the West Papuans did, and as such have yet to recieve recognition.

Who are you to issue decrees on affairs halfway across the world, hmm? Do we interfere in the affairs of Europe? No. We stated our intentions for our area of the world very clearly in the Rudd Doctrine, and this is an application of that Doctrine. If you have a problem, then come and settle it, don't just sit back and critique like a coward.

No need. Unlike you (as apparent from your latest uncivilized grunts), we don't favor brute force over communication. We can resume this discussion when you learn the difference between international diplomacy and cowardice.

I am perfectly aware of the difference. International diplomacy involves constant compromise, unless you're a power like America, with the ability to back up unilateral demands. So far, all I have seen from Turkey is demands that we leave everything to a government that has funded constant raids and attacks on a sovereign nation, and has committed a variety of atrocities against the people of West Papua. Since you have offered no compromise option, even after we stated conditions under which we would leave, and did not debate a compromise which could be effectively proposed to Indonesia with the support of multiple nations, I fail to see how your demands and postulations, laced with the bitterness of a criticism now decades old, can qualify as proper diplomacy.

Stats are about 50% done.

1- Turkey has not made any demands to Australia.
2- We did not say you are not doing the right thing, as that is a subjective concept. You are not doing the legal thing within international law. You went straight into military action without sufficient lobbying in UN or UNSC which are the actual organizations to (attempt to) determine the right thing. (Yes you briefly mentioned it, but in our opinion you could have done better before brandishing swords)
3- Instead of a protective campaign, in which you could havr secured the areas you wished to guard and negotiate, you are running an offensive campaign in which you invaded locations of no relevance to Papua.
4- The "bitterness of criticism" you speak of is not decades old, it is 2-3 years old. International law does not change in such a short time.
5- We can't offer a compromise solution, because there is none. One side demands independence and can not compromise from it, the other can not compromise its territorial integrity. A third party who acted with good intentions to achieve peace and protect lives gets the blame. Welcome to our side of things :)

Now that we see you empathize with our past frustration, we will criticise you no more (will not approve either).

is america at war with me?

I'm back, It'll take me a while to catch up so bear with me.

You may want to get rid of the Iraq stats...

I thoguht he was born of pure atoms... and then someone split him in half creating a nuclear kid as opposed to a nuclear adult...

So, you guys at war with me or what. I really want to hear your sides of the story and why German soldiers killed some of my soldiers. Cause somebodies going to pay you know.

Germany is under the impression that Spain is no longer talking to us.

Officialy we regret this horrible accident but duely stress that if Spain had been more open about its troop movements and their purpose perhaps this could have been avoided. Families of the lost will recieve a hefty payment from the German government and while we realise this is not going to bring their son/husband/father/brother/cousin back perhaps it will help.

Italy agrees with Germany about Spain not listening, we have offered chances for both governments to meet in Rome and find a peacefull solution to this but both governments never responded. We are offering one last chance before Italy will ignore Spain and not respond to them. We really do not want to see Europe become like this, so please I ask.... no.... beg of the Spanish government to accept this proposal and open peace talks.

From: The United Kingdom
To Spain

We also agree, in that warnings were made however you did not listen. This is only the mistake of the Spanish government in not listening to the disapprovals of not one, but many governments. Now that blood has been spilled we ask you to finally sit down and talk.
