Another global warming article concludes that the Earth is the warmest it's been in 400 years. One of the arguments against global warming alarmism is the 'sample size' -- 400 years out of 4.5 billion is really not a large enough sample size to say what 'normal' should be.

However, creationists date the earth back to only 4004 BC, so 6010 years ago. 400 years is a significant sample size for such a timeframe--therefore this argument falls apart in that situation. I'm thinking we need a poll.

I'm a Creationist, and I think the Earth warms up, and cools down. It's a cycle, and I don't think the human race has dramatically affected it. So no, I'm not worried. Even if the human race has warmed up the Earth, there's not a whole lot I could do to change it if even if I wanted to.

Lets think this over..... 400 years.....pre-industrial revolution. What caused it to be warm during that time?

Also, creationists live to be about 75 years old or so, as do those of every other belief. Most people only worry about their relevent sample size--their own life--regardless of their beliefs.

To answer the question though-- The difference in time scales is irrelevent, therefore creationist shouldn't care any more than any other person does.

Oh God yes! If these people stopped researching a dead end pseudoscience and actually made an effort to do something that might help the world around them, even if 1 out of 10,000 became a scientist, it would be agood thing, then maybe they could apply some of that rigour to their own beliefs and someone, somewhere might take them seriously instead of dismissing there pseudo intelectual banter out of hand.

And hey maybe they might even be able to change governemnt policy as their day job. Creationism and Science together at last, there all it takes is a little effort and you can do good things in the world with science, without challenging your notions of what god did 6000/millions of years ago.:)

I don't think any scientist in his right mind needed this latest study to confirm the existence of global warming. It's been well established for years. Judging by the fact that creationists don't accept scientific evidence unless it conforms to their inerrant biblical notions, I doubt that any creationist would be concerned. I would doubt that most would even know what global warming is.

As a creationist, I believe in taking care of God's creation. Runaway pollution is inexcusable. In fact, one of the main reasons for the return of Jesus Christ, is for "destroying those who destroy the earth."

Revelation 11:18
The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great— and for destroying those who destroy the earth."

Hey welcome back Quasar!

I will probably see little of what is to come, but I do make an effort to lessen my contribution to it.

Thats not all-inclusive: i believe in creation, but that it was created 4.6 billion years ago. If anyone has questions PM, i dont want to get into it here, its kinda complicated and im in no mood to argue -its been a good day today!

Creationists are hyper-conservative people. Do you genuinely expect conservative extremists to feel concerned about global warming ?

Don't check further than that...

Well considering that Creationists do believe that the world has been created 10,000 years ago, I guess they don't even believe there's been an Ice Age then...

No, the creationists would have a problem with the dating.... they would say that there was an "ice age" or a cold age, but dated sometime in the 3000's bc.

Job states: "Out of whose womb came the ice? And the frost of the heavens, who fathered it? The waters are hidden like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen".

This (as well as other references, I think) is cited as evidence of a creationists' ice age.

Here it's been an unusually hot summer this far. Of course, the winter was unusually cold, with over three months of continuous full snow cover.

Alright so if I've understood well what you both assume is that it's actually the same temperature in both of your place. :p
