How would you guys feel about each presidential candidate taking some sort of standardized test to ensure they have the high levels of intelligence and ability to run the US? If they failed the test, they wouldn't be allowed to run a campaign.

Think about it, university students have to take the ACT and the SAT before they're selected. Why shouldn't the most important office in the United States be subjected to a basic standardized test like the SAT?

hehe hehe hehe

Absolutely!!!!! Though it could never be accepted because of its discriminatory side.
The only problem is that IQ do not necessarily equals wisdom.

Not before the voters take the test.

But then, there's not objective way to test someone's intelligence, and even then, there is no objective way to determine whether or not someone's intelligence is high enough for a specific purpose.

Actually that used to be the case in the US until the 1965 Voting Rights Act that outlawed the practice because it was used to keep blacks from voting in the south.

Yes most defenately, I certanly dont want a prize winning monkey in office ;).

If the idea was to screen out Bush, it wouldn't have worked. His SAT score was higher than Kerry's.

No, no reason for it. Not to mention...I'm more worried about the voter's IQ than that of the President.

Yes, they should have to, IMO. The voters, on the other hand, shouldn't have to, since either way we'll get a competent president.
