Should Private Citizens Be Allowed To Search Each Other?

Ah, you haven't read anything and you are guessing. The answer to everything is prevemtimg the police from doing their work. Where exactly does it say that the police wanted to 'shake her down'? Or you don't know as you haven't read anything?

Erm, no, police pull you over to do searches, check your papers, etc. etc., sometimes you're picked at random.

Just another reason why I never pick up hitchhikers. But this does give me an idea. For women that want a right, I can request to strip search them first, before I give them a ride in my car. I would say I do this to make sure they have nothing illegal on them, so I don't get busted too. I'm going to try suggesting this to women.

It's pretty bad I didn't even want my old childhood friend who found me on facebook to ride in my car because I knew he'd have a joint on him (and he did). The laws need to change. Why should I be responsible if he carries a joint?

In an above post I suggested that the above would probably be construed as lewd or indecent in some states which is why you probably can't do it. IDK about Nevada though! I feel it'd be a great set-up for a "News of the Weird" or a SpikeTV "1000 ways to die" story.

Because you're an accomplice then. Basically it's the same set-up if you're driving him to a bank heist or a suicide bombing. In reality it might only be a misdemeanor or less----you might just get off with a warning.

You are held responsible because you are the owner of the vehicle, which means you must know what is going on with it at all times. You are also responsible for ensuring that any passengers in the vehicle are complying with all the rules and regulations as well.

From the legal point of view, IMO, that's because the joint was found inside your property (e.g. your car, your house, etc.).
If the cops stop your car and find the joint hold by your friend, how do they know at the time time of search that he didn't get it from you?

Imagine, in the example you gave, that your friend see the cops and hide the joint under the passenger sit... now you are in deep trouble.
Your so called friend may swear he didn't know anything about it.

In the example posted by the OP, how the cops know, at the time of search, that the girl was not an accomplice?
Her story may be a cover-up.
Further investigations and background check will clear her.

At the end we are responsible for our actions and inviting somebody inside our property brings a potential risk.
Obviously you cannot, in practice, search all your guests but you should be careful of who you invite.

Yeah. That's why they stole her car. Stuff it. The state scum invent all this crud in order to steal from decent folk.

And you just go along with them.

Where does it say that something's been stolen? Or even seized?

What is the difference between stolen and seized?

OP never provided a source to explain his strange reasoning that the driver should have the right to question her prospective passenger. Of course she should. That's just elementary. However, the reason for this question appears is be that some gang of thugs attacked her because she was decent enough to give a ride to some guy who violated said thugs' rules.

I am guessing that the reason for the OP is that the thugs stole her car. That's the kind of thing they do.
