Having cool name generator could lead to some unexpected problems. I remember in XCOM (also by Firaxis, btw.) they had really great names generated for each of their operations. And then one of the players posted a screenshot of having operation Crystal Night in Germany.
It likely just pulls from a word pool which would ostensibly be pretty easy to mod. I also assume the generator itself is in a lua script which means it would also be easy to mod.
If you raze a city in antiquity, does the penalty last for the entire game or just in antiquity. It would be kind of silly if you go Rome->Spain->Mexico and in the modern era America is mad at Mexico because Rome razed Carthage 3000 years before.

Yeah, it would make more sense if it were age specific, or at least applied to just the current and next age. That way Antiquity war crimes wouldn't still be a real diplomatic issue in 1950.
It would be cool if that were tied to a trait though, wouldn't it? Or maybe a randomized chance for an additional agenda? 10% chance for a Leader to also be a grudge-holder or something like that. Maybe in the Modern Age Ideology choices could impact it too. Fascism would be ripe for dredging up the past for propaganda purposes.
Once again, the Agenda system disappoints me for what it could have been.

Yep. Agendas don't HAVE to be boring. I hope the team gives some serious thought to improving on the existing system for an expansion or something. The potential is awesome.
I was under the impression that that’s the “tile improvement” for tiles that aren’t normally built on. Could’ve sworn I saw a worked natural wonder that had that label on it at some point around the Exploration stream.
War of the Tropical is only cool if the peace would result in a "29th parallel armistice" or so logged somewhere in a chronic to document the shift from where the war started.
I mean, for what it's worth (unless you're Yoda), wars generally get their name, if not after the fact, at least some ways in.
It may be that both of those civs are in a tropical zone in that game, but Carl was pushing north in his attack; who knows that some later victory isn't the memorable/decisive/name-assigning one?
I think ideally it would be one or a combination of several all picked randomly. Might just be War of the Tropical, might be the Mughal-American war of the Tropical, might be the Mughal-American Europe War, might be the War of the European Tropical, etc.
Map generation scripts are kind of weird honestly. We always see this pattern of vertical line of islands - massive continent - vertical line of islands - massive continent. I definitely would prefer it more varied. Something more random with more sea would be better for replayability and prettiness, I think.
Otherwise the only thing I mind about the minimap is the lack of painted territory inside of borders.
Hopefully there are more map types that shake things up a bit. Archipelago with huge chunks of "coast" making the Homelands traversable, the islands consolidated into a middle "third continent," a different map shape a'la VI's Tilted Axis, etc.
