Well, at the beginning SNES cartrigdes had only 1 Megabite, but as the system approached the end of it's life cycle there were more and more 3 or 4 MB games.

they must hold a similar amount, most of the famicom disk games came out on cartridges outside japan, i think the point of the fds was that floppies were much cheaper to produce, i think fds games were cheaper to buy than catridge games
From what I understand the SNES dominated Japan/USA while the megadrive was the system of choice in Europe/Australia/New Zealand etc. The last great console war before Sony dominated the market (and EA made original games)
