Snoopy Terrain Graphics Modpack v4.5 for Civ3 Conquests (C3C)

Created by: Daniel (aka Sn00py, Icedan) Knowles
Greener version created by Thunderfall

snoopy45csm.jpg

----------------- README -----------------

This modpack changes the terrain graphics to be more detailed and easier to identify. It contains new graphics for irrigation, rocky mountain & hills, new rivers, distinct looking forests and jungles, deep blue (or greener) water, greener grassland, raised land, improved city graphics, and more. The rules have not been changed.

What's new in this version:

* Includes the new graphics for volcanos and marsh terrains.

* resources.pcx updated to include the four new C3C resources (sugar, tropical fruit, tobacco, and oasis).

* Includes the new grassland forests graphics made by snoopy. The normal grassland forests file from previous version of snoopy is also included in the zip. If you prefer to use the old grassland forests instead, simply rename the "grassland forests.pcx" to "grassland forests (new).pcx" then rename the "grassland forests (normal).pcx" file to "grassland forests.pcx".

* There is now a separate version with greener water (GW), in addition to the standard deep blue water version. Each version also has a greener edition.

Installation Instructions:

1) After you download the file, unzip it using WinZip (www.winzip.com). You will see a folder, a .BIQ file, and a README file. Example: "Sn00pys Terrain (C3C).biq" and a folder named "Sn00pys Terrain (C3C)".

2) Copy or Move them to the Civ3 Conquests "Scenario" folder, which is located at "C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios" by default. That's all!

3) To play Civ3 using the Snoopy terrain graphics you just installed, on the Civ3 Conquests main menu screen select "Civ Content" and load the snoopy terrain modpack from the list.

4) Happy Civing!

Will all the new civs show up if I play through the civ content path?

Yes. This is just a graphics modpack and doesn't change any of the game rules. You will still go thru the usual world and Civ selection screens.
EDIT: oops, I just gave it a try and the new C3C civs don't show up. :(

EDIT2: I found out the problem. The new Civs were not selected in the list of playable Civilizations in the BIQ file because I based it on the PTW BIX file. This is easily fixed. I will have the download links back up within 30 minutes.

EDIT3: Ok, links are back up and all the new Civs should show up now . Thanks for asking that question, Birdjaguar. :)

Thank you Thunderfall and Sn00py.

Hey Thunderfall and Snoopy,
I have downloaded your file but when I take the map itself out of the terrain folder it doesnt read as Snoopy's terrain anymore. It comes up as regular civ 3 terrain. If u could help me with this dilemma it would be greatly appreciated

if you want to use this terrain ever (so all scenarios without own terrain too), you should copy the "Art"-folder to your Civ3Conquests-directory and replace existing files ;)

When you use these graphics is it like using a senario? Or will the graphics be permanently changed for all the games that I play or have already started?

basically it's as a scenario, but in the way I posted above you can use it as standard-graphic to all existing saves too ;)

Hello, I am very new here so please be patient.

Is it possible to mix some of this wonderful new art with the old; if so then how please?

Incredible jobs Snoopy n Thunderfall :jump:

which graphic you mean? you can swap some graphics but some graphics not, so it would be usefull to know the parts you want do change ;)

hi

wow you are quick! :viking:

I do not know how to do the quote thing yet, sorry...

anyways: I would like to use the green water mod along with those gorgeous trees while keeping the original marsh, being able to choose whether the mountains are snow topped and um possibly learn how to make the palm trees in an oasis equal in size once I modify the trees with your wonderful mod pack

would it be better to take this to another forum? I do not wish to spam. I do not know how to change change mediums however, sorry.

if you look to sn00py4.5 archiv, there are the graphic-files in "Art\Terrain", look at this to see what kind of hraphic is in which file, you see that trees, march, palms,... in seperated files, which don't use directly the terraingraphics (only the trees has a little bit green from greener resp. standard with in)

so you can download the version 4.5 with greener water and replace some files and see if there are small graphical-problems in game (if they exist, you have to edit the files with a program like PSP)

we can discuss more about by pm or e-mail tomorrow ;)

woohoo!

thank you very much sir! :jump:
I shall explore what you have recommended asap!

I still see the "white dots" on the screen. I ahve not been able to find a fix and from a post by sn00py there is a fix. Does anyone know what it is?

I've downloaded the greener-version (without the greener water) this time and don't see any white dots, but I know the problem of this dots, because I had the same problem with some of my own mods to sn00py2greener, but it's easy&time-intensive to fix it
but I think if you donwloaded one of the versions above there should no white dots in it

@Thunderfall
There is a problem. The greener version is nothing like the 4.1G. The green is totally different, it no longer has that fantasy look, which was the reason for me to use it. Do we have a chance to get the old colors? Or at least the settings you used at that time?
