So I Guess The Terrorists Have Won

Jolly... Two words: Seth Rogan. Don't worry, it'll still bomb. Patriotism can only ask so much, and that's just too much.

I repeat, what about the 300 million Home Depot, Staples and Target customers who had THEIR info hacked?

*silence from the AG's Office*

Sony, whose board has members of the Rand Corp. on it, ranks better than 300 million working stiffs?

You see how easy it is for me to be a communist?

Question. How is this worse (sony caving, not the attack itself) than when MgM / UA buckled to ChiCom interests and altered the storyline of Red Dawn (the crappy remake) by making the big baddies North Korean rather than ChiComs?

Because as far as I am aware, the "ChiCom interests" never outright threatened them with both cyber and terrorist attacks to get their way. Instead they most likely took the standard corruption route and paid off the people they needed to pay off in order to get the desired result. Also, MGM was probably intending to release the movie in China, which is a pretty large market so they probably didn't want the movie to get banned from being screened there.

On the other hand, 'The Interview' has a near zero chance of ever being released in North Korea anyway, so it's not like Sony could fall back on that excuse for caving. To me, the difference basically boils down to this: MGM can reasonably make and defend the argument that they changed their movie for semi-legitimate business reasons; whereas Sony's actions can only be explained as sheer 100% grade-A unadulterated cowardice. Plus, Red Dawn was only altered, whereas Sony crapped their pants and decided to pull the movie entirely until the backlash from that decision proved to be potentially more detrimental to their business than the threat of terrorism.

What's your point? Obama issued a public statement in response to a publicly perceived threat. Therefore, communism.

Yes. Rejection of a system designed by, and in service to, the .01% led me to communism.

Watching Obama preside over the system keeps me a communist.

Was the system designed by anyone? I didn't think it was.

0.01% do take advantage of it, though. It's strange that not more people do.

A triumph for ‘Murican freedom!
Our liberties? We’ll never cede ‘em!
We’ll never let perish
The right we most cherish:
Our (God-given) freedom to be dumb.

'Tis the season for beheading:
For as long as God is willing,
Let's lop one off here,
For foes far and near.
It's winter! Let's do something chilling.

(Nah! That doesn't scan properly. I can see that.)
