Like, it was cutting-edge to be black in the 1960s during the civil rights movement, or women during one of the few women's movements, or gay in the past couple of decades (particularly these days)... I'm trying to think of who in America is part of a cohesive, inclusive subculture that is not accepted by the mainstream, and hasn't gotten their own civil rights train out of the station.

I'll tell you guys why later. First, we brainstorm!

I am an atheist. :smug:

I don't need anyone to tell me how to live my life, or what to believe. ;)

But other than that, I'm a normal person. Really! I eat, sleep, etc...

How come the ignorant people are never the opprsessed ones? Are people too afraid to hurt others' feelings and be honest with them? Or is too much knowledge generally a bad thing?

Pedophiles and paediatricians. Socialists, since rightwingers keep confusing "socialism" with "communism" with "the Soviet disaster". The homeless. Serious intellectuals. Most seriously, hacktivists, like the DeCSS gang, not accepted by the mainstream including the DMCA.

people with visible tattoos and piercings

women who have at one time in their life appeared in porn

These are great, keep em coming :D

Which, unfortunately, is becoming an overlapping category.

Hey, thanks for the visualization, man.

After people get tired of gays, it will probably be atheists, they seem to by whining more and more about "In God We Trust" and "one nation under God" and other such nonsense more and more lately.

White people, definitely.

And do you mean paedophiles in the strict sense of the term, or just people sleeping with pubere teens?

I always use the term in the strict sense, but I suppose some ephebophiles would join their cause. Others would keep the hell away on the logic that to get to screw teens legally they need to break the equation doing 17yo's = paedophilia in the public mind.
