Solver's unofficial BtS 3.17 patch

Well, if AI vassals can spy on me, I definitely want to catch them before they try it.

I have also received a request for a 50-civ version. Here is the dll file which is tweaked for 50 civs - download version 0.19 and then replace the dll with this one. Well, the ones who wanted this know what to do ;)
Thanks a lot, Solver! :goodjob:
I need it badly for my XXL World :)

I don't want to imagine the computing power needed for that. I already find Giant Earth Mod to be crazy for resources.

I believe AIs are programmed not to spy on masters.

I forget -- vassals can't run spy missions against their masters, right?

Wow... I really, REALLY like what I see with v0.19... this is what I've been hoping/waiting for!

I noticed this one line here though that caught my interest:

Civilopedia will now display "replaced by" lines for buildings that get replaced by UBs

I know this is a slightly different subject, but I was wondering if there was a way to get the Civilopedia to display civ/era-specific "flavor" buildings the same way it does for civ/era-specific military units? I believe as it stands now, the civilopedia always displays the "default" building no matter what, but if in-game, it will display civ-specific flavor units (but not civ-specific buildings)... if there's an easy way to fix/enable this for buildings that would be nice... if not.. no biggie... it's certainly not a major issue.

Keep up the good work... I love the changes/fixes you put into v0.19!

Hmm, the Pedia displays flavour units? As in, it will show an Asian style Archer if I view the entry as a Chinese civ?

Yeah... if you look at the Civilopedia from the main menu, all units are "default/stock" units... but if you were to start/play a game as the Chinese, and check the Civilopedia, you'll actually see the "Asian/Chinese" looking Archer in the Civilopedia... so flavor units for UNITS, actually displays specifically for your civ in the in-game civilopedia.

The same is not true for "flavor" buildings... there's a lot of mods out there that do flavor buildings (Asian Buildings, African Buildings, etc), but they always display the "stock/default" look both in the main menu or in-game civilopedia. I have no idea how this is or isn't controlled, how easy/hard it is to change, but it's a very nice "perk" that the civilopedia shows civ-specific flavor units in-game (like a Chinese Archer).

Would be nice if civ-specific flavor buildings did the same. :dunno:

First, thanks for all your work I really appreciate what you are doing for the community :goodjob:

  • Undid galley production changes from Better BtS AI

Is there any particular reason for that?

Max

Better BtS AI team's jdog informed me that their testing revealed that the change didn't really work as expected and may actually have negative impact on the AI, so that is out of the unofficial patch for now.

Good to know, thanks.
