During the early part of the Stone Age, two major developments occurred within the Hakisho tribe which greatly altered the balance of power in Nagora*. The first was a unified system of government. Most of the Kasanazi tribes leaders rose to power based off of strength and fighting ability. Succession was a chaotic affair, with prospective rulers fighting each other for dominance. Kyroke, the chieftain of the Hakisho, changed this. After supposedly falling in battle, he came back to the village, claiming that he was the son of Nagarta, god of war, and therefore, divine. The fact that he had survived a near mortal wound seemed to confirm this for his people. He used this belief to secure his position as permanent ruler of the tribe, threatening to bring the wrath of the gods down upon any who would oppose him.
The second great accomplishment was the creation of the first true city. Okasina, located on the island of Tegota**, did not seem all that greater than regular villages, save for one major advantage. Okasina sported a huge network of defensive surrounding the city. Trenches, palisades, and sloped surfaces encirclement the city, making any attack very costly. Kyroke used this advantage to launch a war of conquest. Many tribes either joined his cause, or were crushed under foot. The Renato tribe, however, choose a third option. In the wake of the Hakisho conquest, the Renato took their entire people and belongings and sailed to the mainland, eventually settling on the coast of Kotana***.
