Why is it that Salt and Echidna have trade with me, but I don’t have trade with them? I would like for these to be two way.

We, the Olafic Republic, are extending an offer of alliance to the Slavic Union. We shall be equal partners in Asia. :D

Superpowers:

-Provinces: Japan's already a super but is also number one here, and so, the Olafic Republic, at 48 provinces, takes this spot.

-Numbers: While Japan leads at 50 units, the Slavic Union takes the spot at 43 units.

Remember that superpowers cannot form PUs, guarantees, alliances, or defensive pacts with eachother.

Problem with that, Olaf... :p

Argh. Ah well. Anyone up for a few provinces? :joke:

Disclaimer: That wasn't an actual offer to give away provinces.

Absolutely sure. :p

Raise Army, Civics and Economic technology to 9 each (if possible; otherwise leave Civics at 8).
Increase military on the Albanian border to match my neighbour's forces and increase my navy to 5 ships.

Of course, now I know you're planning a war given the forces you have deployed on my border is double the size I have already.

I'll build 18 Armies (8 in both of the provinces with armies currently on them, 2 on the territory that has none but touches Austria's border.

Given that you've already threatened to burn down Wien for daring to garrison my own borders, my taking defensive actions to counter your blatant hostility is hardly surprising.

Which is why I'm building another 18 Armies on the border. To contain Austrian aggression.

Also, trade?

Austrian aggression? What about Albanian aggression, you know, with the blockades of Spain and the searching of Spanish cargo and the wide-ranging empty threats every other turn?

With so many soldiers parked on our respective borders, exactly how are we expecting to enjoy free trade between us?

How about a Demilitarized Zone along the border? I'm pulling my troops away from the border this turn. Not to mention I changed my mind of building armies (I really do not feel like building any more armies)

Also, trade makes it less likely, not more likely, of a war breaking out in any case.

Rather than a DMZ, I would propose actual diplomacy binding us into peaceful relations. A royal marriage and non-aggression would convince my merchants that they could trade in your lands safely.

Right NAP.

OOC: I don't want to sign royal marriages. Mainly because I'm still confused as to whether or not this could kill my nation by chance of something. Though, I should probably chance to republic some day but not sure if I can. Oh well.

But a NAP would be good.

I think the worst that could happen is I would gain a casus belli upon you if someone else took the throne.
