2: Hasdrubal Barca => On Deck
3: Bowsling => Eating Cheesy Pizza

4: GamezRule => Skipped
5: Elephantium => Skip Party

Spoiler :
I can play if I must. :)

Also: :bday: to me! :D
Happy late birthday to you! :bday:

Eh, I still need that skip. So, if you could play, that would be great.

Busy RL issues, please take it. :(

:bump:?

:blush:

Sorry 'bout that. Work got really crazy (as in, my 9-5 M-F job had me working both weekend days and staying until midnight several days in a row!), and then I was out of town last weekend.

Long story short, skip me.

Me thinks the game is dying. :(

Yeah. I agree. None of us seem to want to play the game because it's already fairly obvious that we're going to lose.

There ain't much excitement in playing a game if you know victory is beyond reach.

I can play the next 5 turns if none is interested and then see how it goes, i think the game can still be turned in our favor.

Go ahead. I'd still like to finish so that we might start SparGamez3 if anyone is interested in doing the Fall of Rome.

Its a tough game as Carthage, the geography makes it rough, the VC is even tougher. I won once, on the last turn, and haven't managed it again.

Ok, i played a little over the top (8turns to try to make a capable base and military force for usage), but i think we can still win the game. We just have to push on Italy.

Turn 1:
Killed roman pikeman near Toledo with Heavy Cavalry.

(IBT) Lost Galley to Macedon Galley
Macedon lands 2 HeavyCavs in Sicily

Turn 2:
Carthage->War Elephant
Utica->War Elephant
Several Towns produce warriors and a couple spears.

Sold maps and techs to contacts to get more money (some 250gp)
Short-rushed some builds, mainly warriors.
Made peace with Macedon.
Demanded peace from egypt + 65gp+Maps.
Couldn´t get Medicine or Monotheism from anyone, we could use Medicine on Carthage.
Restored ship chain.
Moved troops tp Sicily, preparing disembark on Roman Soil.

Turn 3:
Sunk Macedonian Galley using vGaley near Syracuse.

Builds: 3 War Elephants + 5 Warriors + 4 Spears + 2 Firectas + Workers
678gp in the bank, spent it all on short rushes.
Resold maps and iron to Egypt for 105 gold, then pillaged it afterwards :D (too nasty?)
Reconnected ivory, sold it to Persia for 230g and the pillaged it afterwards again.

Upgraded 6 Spears to Num Mercs for 180g and 8 War Elephants to Heavy Cavs in Marsala for 240g.

New production plan - all corrupt cities are set for warrior production with the exception of a couple setllers and courthouses (Leptis Minor).

Irrigated Libya and south of Spain! Founded 2 new cities in Spain and nowadays Tunisia.
Heavy Cav poped goody hut in the inner desert near oasis and got......barbarian hordes! damm! i was hoping for Medicine.

Looking at the map, we can settle the desert towards the oasis for warrior production cities and increasing the terrain we control of the map for domination victory. There are also mountains with gold further to the south.

Turn 4:
Using 5 galleys a massive force of Num Mercs, 1 Settler and 1 Worker land on the tip of Italy (shiled grassland).

Builds:
4 War Elephants, 6 Spears, 7 Warriors are build.
556gp in the bank (+254gpt)

Reconnected Ivory and Iron, upgraded more Spears and War elephants to Heavy Cav and Num Mercs, re-sold Ivory to Macedon and Iron to Gaul for 156g and 34g plus maps.
Re-pillaged ivory and iron.

Moved almost 40 troops to Base Camp I including Hannibal.

(IBT)
Rome attacks (Celt)Bibracte city with 6 Legion III´s, the 3rd destroys the settlement, and the get a leader Maximus, dam, we should be carefull now.
Egypt declares war on Persia
We lose an Heavy Cav to a barbarian warrior near Tingis (what? how? were they sleeping? drunk? stonned?)

Turn 5-6:
Founded al-kaf.

Builds: 3 Galleys, 4 War Elephants, 8 Spears, 9 Warriors.
Re-sold horses and ivory after reconnecting, upgraded War Elephants and Spears in Sicily.
Re-pillaged Ivory and Iron.
Moved some 20 troops to Base Camp I, including some Firecats.
Set forester operations in some corrupt cities for graneries and barracks.
Short-rushed Barracks in Base Camp I.

(IBT)
Lost Num Merc to Legion III in pirineeos mountains.

Turn 7:
897g in the bank(+276gp)
Builds: 2 War Elephants, 5 Spears, 4 Warriors, 1 Settler, 2 Workers, 1 Barracks.
Micromaneged cities to decrease build times, assigned some specialists here and there.
Short rushed a lot.
Sold maps, horses and ivory, re-pillaged it after upgrading more Eles to Cavs and Spears to Mercs.
Moved remaining troops to Base Camp I, ther eare almost 70 troops there now, we are almost ready to start conquering Italy, if Rome lets of course.

(IBT) Rome attacks Base Camp I, we get 2 archer hits and 1 Catapult hit but still lose 3 vNum Mercs inthe process.

Turn 8
553gp (+263gpt) in the bank.
We build 6 more War Elephants, 5 Spears, 3 Galleys and 10 Warriors.

Situation:

As a twist of fate, Rome invades Spain with 21 vLegionary III´s now visable, 15 on range of firectas and Heavy Cav´s in nearby cities of Rusicade and Emporiae.
Rome also settles Corsica with Palmyra.
Persia moves galleys on our waters, we send reinforcements to the Egyptian border just in case, but more should be sent.

There are 19 warriors ready for upgrade in Marsala (19x60=1140gp) and we are making a lot of them per turn, 8 War elephants (240gp) and 3 Spearmen (3x30=90gp).
Italian Base Camp I includes 77units (counting with Hannibal´s army).

I´m using the iron near Cirta to reconnect and pilage every turn for warrior production and War Eles upgrading.
I sugest mining the iron near Carthage but don´t road it. Same goes for Malaca.
Goths and Celts have almost 1600 gps between them, we should find a way to relief them of it :D, i´v tried selling ivroy and such, but without sucess, they don´t have an harbor? htey only buy maps...still it´s money.

Military:
Almost 50 Warriors (50 Swords in near future)
Almost 90 Heavy Cavs
30 Num Mercs
25 Galleys
15 Firecats.

1: Sparthage => Preparing a new game
2: Hasdrubal Barca => Just played
3: Bowsling => Up!
4: GamezRule => On deck
5: Elephantium => Eating a watermelon

Why don't make it an open succession game from now on, so anybody can play as many turns as they want (within reason), and there are no rosters?

Hu? I only played those turns to allow the next player to have everything ready for an invasion of Italy, thus, giving it a "motivation" to keep playing the game, instead of letting it die like it was happening, i don´t mind staying off roster the next cycle.

Not what I meant. :facepalm:

It was a suggestion to make the game go faster.

Open SGs actually end up slower and die more often than regular SGs.
