If you give me translation access to the Water and Death magics that you posess, then no. But should you refuse, then you'll be leaving me no choice.

History Of Magic
Volume Two:
Eastern magic.

Chapter Three:
The Magic Of Empowerment.
As Previously discussed in Chapter Two, Eastern Magic is not based off of Elemental Forces, Like the Western Magic developed by Wu'di, but of method of Casting/Effect.

the magic of Empowerment is built around the casting and sealing of mostly compleat spells into Object. Later, a person can use the totem and quickly finish a spell, allowing for the rapid casting of powerful spells. while generally the more powerful the spell, the shorter the amount of time the spell can remain bound, a skilled empower can easily reseal spell and restore it. after the spell is used, if the object that the spell was sealed in was not destroyed, the spell can often be recast and sealed inside the object more easily, as the spell has been imprinted.

More Often or Not, the object that the spells are sealed in are called Totems. they are often carve piece of wood in the shape symbolically representing the spell.

Examples of Spells of Empowerment.

Chameleon Totem, or Stealth Totem:
the Chameleon Totem is a quite complex spell, bending Light nearly perfectly around the User. the spell usually Last for about an hour, then end abruptly. with the heavy use of this Totem by Early shaman, several of these totems have been nearly permintly imbued with the spell, only needing a fimilirarity with the spell and sufficient magical power to recharge. even during the age of Lord Konhan it often took but a few minutes.

Orge Totem(Forbidden): a dangerous and Fatal Seppl, it greatly expended the users Muccule Mass and vastly increased the subjects durability and Strength. while greatly enhancing ones combat potential, the shock of the spell ending always ended up being fatal.

Enchanted Blade: a simple Spell pre-placed upon a stowrd of other blade, often a day or two before a battle, and invoke just beof the combat. while the effect vary, they often include vorpal sharpness, perceived mass increase/decrease, or sure-strike charms.

Rabbit Totems, or Communication Totems: a Pari of totems, that when invoked, allow one to project a voice/sound from one totem to another, no mater the distance. they are a little impractical, as the toemse must be created and remarked while touching, through the spell cna be recharged while the totems are separated. they are useful when you need to get a message someplace very fast.

Vision totem: a Totem that has been imprinted with the memories and thoughts of a person/place. Upon invocation, it replays the memory inside the minds of anyone near, like they are the person/place. once a vision totem has been made, they last until they shattered. often, they are one use, to be sent with a messenger to diliver orders more exactly.

Cantrip: a grab all name for commercial Level totems. minor levitation spells, Item Locators, or other, simple spells. the usually take only a few seconds and minor effort to recharge by a shaman, having been used and re-used many many times, they allow the common populous to practice a very minor amount of magic, while giving shamans a way to earn a living, for they are allowed to charge a small fee to recharge these totems. they also serve a secondary perilous of scouting out the populous for those ecepsinaly skilled at magic, but have not been trained.

Very interesting TerrisH. I don't think commercialized magic items have existed in Wu'di at all in all of it's majestic history. The reason being the Adepts were reluctant to give un-trained ones access to magic, and the role the Adepts Soldiers play in their society. Most officials are either Adepts or come from families with previous high-ranking Adepts, more or less related to the Imperial Family.

Anyway, totems seems like a great way to seek out new recruits for your Academy. It that's what you wanted? Or is your magic not based on written records?

^_^ I noticed that. and yhea, they are a way to figure out who can and who can't. making the Totems are up for the adepts. they closely gaurd the secrets and the spells used in making the totems. they then sell/ give the toems out to the poulation. they use it, and the adepts recharge them for a fee. if they feel/notice sombody is trying to alter/change the spells, they will investigate and recrute..

hmm writnin records.. it is, and it isnt. they tend to use the vision totems in the teaching. Yes, Records Exist, but they arn't writtine, except directly into the adepts brain.

I'll Explain more on the Phlosiphy behind the magic thrusday, when I have time to write. I'll post chapter Two of the History of magic Volume 2. (this was chapter 3.)

Have you made your own calendar as well? I dont belive thrusday exists in mine :P

OOC: With stDarNes frozen and my university stuff coming to an end for a while, I have time to join another NES. :) So, I think I'll be taking Pashawan, unless Silver arbitrarily bans me because he feels emo. ;)

So, if I understand correctly, Pashawan is at an uneasy truce with Shaba (south), at peace with Cairo (west), just now tried to capitalize on the tragic plague, has a trade route with Wu'di, and is a rich kingdom where the people live in harmony but don't really trust their king.

Anything else I should know?

Translation access?Meaning the language? You can learn the language of the magicks(Death and Water) if you wish to,but you cannot get the knowledge if that what your asking for.

I assume you would want the language to check if there is hidden Air knowledge in the Death and Water Academy books? If so my men will teach yours the language but they will be weary of any possible theft.

To: Seth Dethos
From: Soltyrian Council & King

Very well, if you shall not cooperate with giving us access to your magic scrolls, then we shall have to do as we did with Shaemar. Confiscate your magic from you, before you are able to do any harm with them. Good day.

To: The Tori Republic
From: Soltyria

We will aid you in gaining your independence from the betrayer Seth Dethos, if you in turn allow our adepts access (to learn the contents) to your earth magic scrolls. (I believe the republic of Tori area had an Earth magic academy somewhere.)

Indeed, the Republic has access to the Academy of Earth. Barragh hid it when you came on a raid to his fortress.

From: republic of Tori
To: Soltyria

We would gladly receive your aid in this war! Seth Dethos is no better than the Two Brothers! Down with the tyrannies!

@Erik: I was just fearing that you might make a weird nation with chaos Adepts and make this a LINES ripoff. You can take over Pashawan. There are some republicans inside your borders as well. And the expanse of bare land between you and Rollux (former Galadinia) is considered demilitarized zone.

To Soltyrian Council & King
From Kingdom of Benthrezim

So be it!We have offered a hand of peace and even a chance to learn the language of our academies,we allowed you to read upon them to ensure that there is no hidden knowledge or foul play.Yet you refused, clearly stating this is nothing else but a war of conquest and power.

Even if the last day dawns on the Kingdom of Benethrezim, you will gain nothing from it.This you can be sure of.

To Kingdom of Ramon
From the Kingdom of Benethrizim

Unfortunately we are no longer able to help you with your war on the scheming treacherous Delanor. We hope you understand that we have some urgent internal and external problems....that need to be dealt with.If however we manage to resolve these problems in due time,we will honour our word and help you crush them.

OOC:3000th post.....I have no life.

Does that mean I still have half of my life left? :p

Academy of Air

OOC: No, Academy of Earth. Air is the one missing from Solopolis.

IC:

To: Seth Dethos
From: Soltyria

You? Offering us peace? Bah, we will have you drawn and quatered for your treachery. And we will confiscate your magic while we are at it. All diplomacy will now cease with your unrighteous rule. Have pleasent last days of rule.

To Soltyria
From Seth Dethos

So you will come and take our magicka. So it shall be written and so it shall be done.

-Seth Dethos

Letter being made public as per the Law of Freddom of Information.

OOC:SS can you change the name of my nation, something to the likes:Imperial Republic of Benthrezim
