SteamDB: "Bison" Depot??

At a certain time in the game, Mods were enabled for Multiplayer, they seemed to have disappear without a notice. I believe they were enabled in the Fall Patch Beta but removed. (Or was that BNW Patch)

There is without a doubt another patch coming, I mean, it'd make sense?
And wether it's an elaborate EP, or a simple DLC, something is coming and I really can't wait.

Yeah, there was an option for Multiplayer after you'd loaded mods after the pre-Fall Patch (which was released in...August, was it?). As @Doctor Vic Tim said, though, they just didn't work.

But yeah, there's summit coming. However, please, Firaxis, please - give us a grainy screenshot of some new feature!

So there you go. Bison = Conquest of the New World Deluxe
266720 will end up being Conquest of the New World Deluxe for PC

Could be worse, could have been the boring Hawaii culture scenario redux

So ... it's just an upgrade for the Conquest of the New world scenario ... I guess it's better than new maps ... Snif ...

I'd have preferred a new future-era or sci-fi scenario. However, it's better than another map pack or another civ (in my opinion; I know many disagree with me). And if they were going to revamp a vanilla scenario, they could have picked a worse one and I'm not sure there were any better ones.

So, I imagine they'll update the combat rules, tech tree, & units to BNW, add trade routes and religion, Portugal, Netherlands, Shoshone, and Maya. Possibly use the "scrambled" map technique.
Hopefully there are a few more twists than that, though even if that's all, it should be fun.

I'll probably buy it on release day. Should be fun for at least a couple play throughs starting on either side of the Atlantic.

Based on past patterns:
We will probably get a moderate sized patch with the scenario.
PC release will probably be around 1/15 - 2/05.

Well, I for one approve of this and I am very excited for the upcoming stuff. Thumbs up! :D

I come back from work, log in to CivFanatics, and see this. Good news!

I'm surprised. I wouldn't think many players would pay for the same scenario over again, even if it is improved. Would they include Spain and Inca again? Have they ever done a scenario DLC before without a civ to go with it? I hope they include a new civ, but I'm not sure how likely or unlikely that would be.

Perhaps it won't be a paid thing. Perhaps, and this is just conjecture, it will be a free DLC to all those who have purchased the Spain/Inca pack, as well as the expansions for the required Civs/mechanics (GnK for Maya/Netherlands and Religion, and the BNW for Shoshone/Portugal and Trade Routes/World Congress). Though, as much as I would love to see this as the case, I very much doubt it is. Perhaps, with the above circumstances, a discount can be granted?

Or maybe it's a way to get people to buy the G+K civs without buying G+K itself

Let's hope it includes an improved and updated Into the renaissance Scenario
To include....
Venice, Portugal and Poland as new Civs
Trade Routes & BNW mechanics
New scenario specific units, buildings and wonders
Pre-established cities, empires and boundaries

I'm kind of hoping that it comes with some new civs (for example the Sioux and Inuit) as well as adding in the G+K and BNW Civs (Netherlands, Portugal, Maya and Shoshone) - it'd make it more worth the usual scenario price for those who already bought the original version.

Hopefully these database changes mean that 2k intends make an announcement before the end of the week so we can get some more details about how exactly the scenario has been updated.

If the package a few Native American Civs with it I'm okay with this plan. Or maybe one new Native civ (Sioux, Cherokee, etc.) and a civ like Kongo and make the slave trade a real issue. So long as you could play those civs in the main game as well that'd be pretty cool.

Really the should do the same with the ancient wonders pack, make Sumeria and Hittite come into the game.

Anything that doesn't add new civs at this point for me is just me giving Fraxis money to show support for the wonderful improvements they've made to civ5 and patches. It really started off pretty shaky, but there's enough features now for this to feel like a fully fleshed out game. The things I want now can all be done in patches, and if it means they're going to keep releasing map packs and scenario packs to raise money then I'll keep paying.

I think we're at the point now where a third expansion is unnecessary, and I don't think BNW even particularly sold well by Fraxis standards. For example, about 33% of the people have the easiest to get G&K achievement on Steam; only 7% have the same for BNW; for comparison, 14% already have the same for the XCOM expansion, which wasn't released until November. The playerbase attrition for a third expansion, following this pattern, would mean only 2% of civ owners would buy a third expansion (and play it on steam without mods).

It's time to make sure existing systems work or are improved, including the usual suspects: 1) AI, military and otherwise, 2) Multiplayer functionality, 3) Diplomacy victory where getting major civs to like you actually matters, and creating a system for buying more than base votes for World Congress, or buying any votes for Congress/World Leader, and to have the AI actually use both systems, 4) Civ balance, 5) Tweaks to policy and tennents for balance, 6) More fleshed out Espionage system, including ways to level up your spies via CS sub-game.

Science and Domination Victory, Expanded Espionage System, and probably few other ideas could pretty much fit into a third expansion pack, which I would pay.

Conquest of the New World Deluxe... Are they going to directly compete with Paradox's Conquest of Paradise for Europa Universalis 4? :)

I think the original Conquest of the New World was a rather.. and pardon my expression "crappy" version, it wasn't really that good, with Ed (who probably has a better experience in that time) and the team having so much new content that they gave us with both expansion packs, that is defeniately ONE of the scenarios that seriously needs a good revamp.

What would be nice is if we got a new Civ, but this is a DLC, and it could be a free DLC for those that own Double Pack and BNW and perhaps even G&K (for Dutch and Maya if tey're in).
