SteamNES

To be honest, my knowledge of Polish society before World War Two is limited. I know about the border changes, what with Poland-Lithuania, the Grand Duchy and Partitions. If you have some suggestions for Pjolak society, I'm open.

BTW, I've changed the stats, because I accidentally made Pjolaka the same faith as Rossovy.

I've added people's locations on the map, as rings around the cities (or lack thereof) where they currently are. I can't think of a better way to cleanly show player locations.

Two main points about OTL Poland are that:
a) The nobility is absurdly over-privileged and has egos to match;
b) The monarchy is quite powerless as it can't really pass anything without the permission of every single member of the Sejm and if it tries anything it is easily overthrown. It isn't even hereditary - the Sejm elects a monarch from a wide list of losers foreign and domestic noblemen who care to apply.

So that leads to an uniquely corrupt society, with widespread poverty, lots of petty but proud nobles and a few obscenely rich and powerful magnates who are often involved in political intrigues, patronage of arts and sciences and whatever the hell they want. I think that this could fit in just fine in this setting.

They are a fairly prosperous nation, ruled by a single King, but with particularly strong noble influences.

I suppose the prosperity is limited to the rich. :p

I could shift this to reduce the influences of the King, if you'd like. Since this NES still hasn't had its first update, I can change details. That's also true for things which I haven't firmly defined, later in the game.

Name: Franz Braun/D'Artagnan59
Nationality: Allemanish
Color: Dark Green
Bio: Born in the state of Hamburger, he was interested in science as early as 4. He moved to the state of Hotdog while he was 7. He went to the University of Frankfurt, the capital. He got his Ph.D at 20, and was one of the architects of the industrialization of Allemany. Now, he has a plan that will change the world forever...
Technology: Generic
Forces: 1 Death Robot (Chainsaw, automated steam-powered turret)

@dldnjstjr- Your forces are you character's first creation, not his followers. Mesons could be little 'brains in boxes' if you wanted, but they wouldn't be very powerful right now.

Oh, I thought they were the work forces or something like that. Well then, it will be name of elementary particles beyond simple nucleons. (Modern day Quark)

I'm confused. You called what I assumed to be your mechanical force 'Meson'. I assumed that was a robot of some sort. Then you tell me they're theoretical physicists, then elementary forces/particles (where I have heard of them).

Make up your mind! :p

The colour Dark Green is very similar to Doctor Leopold Vermeulen's. Are there any other colours you'd like?

Oh, and might I change the names of the cities. Hotdog is definitely going.

"Ah...hahahahaha! BP where are you I need to show you something!" said the maniacal doctor.

"Here sir." replied Boilerplate.

"This." he points to a tarp covered machine. "Is the future!"

He quickly pulls the tarp off the machine, revealing a half finished metal carriage, with a long smoke stack and big metal treads. Looking almost like a small train, but requiring no tracks. "I call it...ROBERT!"

Boilerplate looked at him with the same old blank stare, he couldn't exactly show expression.

"Sir, Robert seems like an unusual name for a machine, especially one without any form of intelligence." BP said.

"What you say!? Robert is not the real name, it is an acronym."

"For what exactly?"

"Renaissance Operational Building and Emergency Rescue Transportation. It, in less words, is our escape vehicle if we are to be chased by locals or government police. It moves at a staggering twenty miles per hour and can even go in reverse!" the cheerful doctor exclaimed.

" How exciting sir. But wouldn't the police be able to catch us on horseback?" Boilerplate asked with an annoying whistle in between the last two words.

"Well that is where the large spikes that will menace from its outer shell will come in. Muskets cannot punch through this armor, and the spikes will keep those horses away"

"That helps a bit, I suppose."

"Now, Boiler, lets go and rescue from resources from these heathen people and begin work on the ultimate machine! The Giant Mechanical Cat of Doommmmmmmmm!!!!!" he catches his breath. "That was refreshing."

The Steamhulk is similar to the MkI of WWI, except it has a turret and it runs on steam. It's early prototype, so about as powerful as everyone else's machine.

"What is this Raul?"

"It is a different type of weapon Father."

Leonardo looked at Raul's new invention. It looked like a glove made of wood and steel, but he knew not to judge by appearances. A button was pushed, steam poured out, and then the glove was a sword. Leonardo was impressed

"That is very unique Raul. What else can it do?"

At this, Raul was smiling. Smiling, though as a mechanical man, he was not supposed to have feelings. Another puff or steam came, and a musket was there. Leonardo was wildly impressed.

“I see you have made modifications to my shield arm Raul”

“Indeed Father Leonardo”

“Is it effective?”

“Yes. The other ones are dead”

“Good Work Raul. They were heathens, undeserving to live. Not even for experiments”

“Father?”

“Yes, my son?”

“How did I become this?”

Leonardo smiled. He stretched out in his chair, and began the tale.

“One day, a huge storm hit in Madrei. I had just completed a long day of praying and experiments at my lab there, and I noticed a boy. This boy was once a foolish heathen like myself, and the Lord took pity upon him by bringing him to me. After examination, it was found his legs, and one arm needed to be amputated, as well as rebuilding the bone structure. But I was able to recreate the boy, through faith and science. They boy became an active follower in the reform church and has not ever let me down.”

He noticed Raul, part human, part machine, had fallen asleep, smile on his face.

Gregore Angarine/al-Shamdli/das
Colour: Gold
Nationality: Gallo-Rossovyan, residing in Khur
Bio: A son of a Rossovyan diplomat and a Gallian countess, Gregore grew up in Lutece and, despite the faltering and uncertain fortunes of his family, received an elite education and generally showed himself to be a very capable young man, though somewhat cynical and detached; during this time he also discovered the gift of a Spark in himself, but decided not to call any attention to it and largely neglected it until more recent times. After graduating from the Academie Gallaise and separating himself from his family, he drifted without purpose and often in dubious company. Ultimately, suffering from boredom and ennui, he decided to travel around Europe, but failed to settle down anywhere and growing all the more desperate in his search for a purpose. Having squandered what money he had, Gregore tried to work as an inventor, but, due to the error-prone or intentionally harmful nature of many of his inventions, was expelled from one Alleman town after another Pjolakan village. After nearly dying at the hands of an angry mob, Gregore decided to turn his life around and, breaking off what little acquiantances he still had, secretly fled to the southeastern lands, where he disappeared for months. Very recently he reemerged under a pseudonym at the court of the Shah of Khur, first as an entertainer and then, having impressed the Shah with his more sophisticated inventions and general erudition, as a trusted advisor.
