Siam - 4000BC

bar-temple.jpg

The people of Siam were now united. Some grudgingly, some happily. The whole region was now under the banner of Minionism. But while the strange religion growed, the first emperor, AAminion00, debated with his advisors over the future of the country. In the end it was decided that the 425 man army would be split into 5 sections, and would expand in all directions except North.

That distinction was to belong to the first 75 Minion Monks in History. In the Blood Red robes that would distinguish them, they were to travel slowly North with their mission of peacefully annexing the lands and spreading the word of Minionism. The first expansion, was to begin.

Meanwhile in Siam itself, many changes were occuring. The Emperor AAminion00 I, encouraged rice farming in the region and established many large plantations in order to increase the economy. The most important news however was in the center of the town.

Emperor AAminion00 I claimed that a new temple was to be constructed in the very centre of Siam. The Great temple of Minion (pictured above) was to be the holiest site in Minionism and would forever awe the world. The most revolutionary architectural techniques would be used to show the glory of Siam and Minionism.

The city state of Ur had joined together with i's sister city and formed Sumer. The government was very tribal as the people still did not trust anyone man to power, especially considering the Sumerian cities had yet to fully trust each other.

To the north were other powerful joint city states much like Sumer. Uruk had formed a powerful base just across the river from Ur. Girsu had also grown to power north of Ur, it rested between the Tigris and Euphraties. Nipur, to the northwest had also become quite powerful, conquering a couple near by cities. Babylon was growing much power, especially considering it had conquered and allied with 4 other cities. Susa, to the extreme northeast had created a small zone of control east of the Tigris. The Sipparian alliance had been defeated by Babylon and Sippar itself was declining in power just north of Babylon. Eshnunna had recently been founded northeast of Babylon, east of the Tigris. Much farther up north two other cities had recently been contacted. Assur was growing into a powerful military state at it has conqured it's nearest city. Ninevah, north of Assur has grown powerful through trade and commerce, 3 other cities had already joined withit to gain power.

The King of the two tribes of Ur and it's ally had decided that for Sumer to grow it must need allies and parters to survive. Many other states were tring to gain power over all others and to survive Sumer would need to get power first. King Har'or ordered that a Grand Ziggurat be constructed in Ur. Much smaller ziggurats appeared all over Messopotamia, but they were at best 3 stories tall. The king ordered the completion of a Ziggurat that is 150 of his feet tall, 15 stories. It would act not only as a temple to the Gods but it would also act as a granery for Ur.

Powers of Messopotamia:

SUMER:

We must join together! If we stay divided we can not survive. The Babylonians are growing power to the north everyday. If they finish off their enemies to the north, who knows what will happen if the head our way. We must join under the banner of Sumer and unite to protect our lands. What do you say?

Update 1, 3900bc

---Intro---

People across the world discover the wonders of agriculture and civilization is born.

In the depths of the tropical forests, a plain is found, and a city settled. Soon this city was able to conquer the small tribes surrounding it and gain superiority among the area. This city was known as Bangkok, home of the Siamese.

One the rocky shore, under the blue sky of old, the city of Rouen is founded by wondering nomads who decided to worship a sea goddess, and remain close. These people, the Normans, have a long history of tribal conflict with the people whom they originated from, the eastern Germans.

On top the windy plateaus, where game is especially plentiful, and domestication is born, the city of Saragosa of the Aragonians is founded. Mainly a farming town, the merchants also prosper from trade with a sister tribe, the Sevillians.

Amidst the swampy lands of the Gulf Coast, the tribe of Mississippi claims the only fertile land for miles. A city, named after their patron God, Louis, is born and named St. Louis.

The Mediterranean winds calms this oasis of fertility and population. Tripoli, home to the Barbaryians, is established somewhere near 3967bc. Having the culture of five cities, Tripoli is constantly the destination of musicians and artisans all over Africa.

The jungles crowd around the settlement established by the Geystralians. However, this determined and industrious civilization has incurred for already hundreds of years, and is the oldest civilization in the world.

Warriors all over Europe are usually always heading towards Burgundy, and the city of Dijon, which the empire is ruled from. The city, born not a hundred years ago, has already tripled its size, mostly made of mercenaries.

Rising out of the warring city-states of Mesopotamia is Ur, the legendary city of Sumer. This city, born in 4001bc, boasts of the leading military arsenal throughout all of the Middle East.

The exalted Pharaoh of Egypt resides in his palace within Memphis. The most technologically advanced nation in the world, Egypt boasts of powerful mathematicians and engineers.

Beijing, home to the Chinese, resides in a calm area in the north, bordering one of the hottest deserts on Earth. Relatively isolated, this city is struggling to survive the conditions of it’s soil. However, through these hardships the people are now naturally industrious and conservative, able to withstand even the hardest of situations.

London resides in an isolated island, in a southern free zone, where the English are the only tribe around for miles. However, the Scottish and Welsh, bordering the peaceful land, are up to no good.

Athens, the Greek metropolis, is known for its stars. Astronomers in Athens are the most renown in the world, and while astronomy consists of (at this age) just gazing and making pictures of the stars, the Greeks are the best at it! However, the Spartans to the south are building up for a war.

Fennia, a nation of religion, is made of a wandering tribe from Asia, known as the Slavs. The city is the first of the Slavs, and certainly not the last.

The Aborigines arise out of the hot sun of the Australian continent, and claim the lands around their only city, Sydney, theirs.

---Events---

The Chinese settlers around the Yellow sea are very little in number, and without a military presence are swept away by wandering tribes.

Rocks all over Greece are being studied by the Athenian wise men to see if they will be able to be used for a new wonder, the Stone Hedge, being built in Athens, Greece. It is expected to take 200 years for the Hedge to be fully complete.

Meanwhile the Greek army invades the rival city of Delphi and successfully assimilates the city and surrounding countryside. During this, the newly conscripted clubmen board a river canoe on a voyage south into the unknown. Five minutes out in sea, the canoes are crushed by the waves and all 10 men are lost, as well as 5 canoes.

Rice plantations take root within the Siamese society. Crop surplus reaches an all-time high, as the rice is bountiful in production. The economy sours. The warriors of Siam also are able to capture more villages on the outskirts of Siam, annexing more territory. Even more is happening in Bangkok, where a structure is being built from sticks and leopard skin to create a temple. The expected arrival of completion of this structure is in about 300 years.

The Aborigine tribes boast of the best trails in the world. Communication between each tribe is better, and so trading and military cooperation increases, boosting the economy.

The River Hunters are able to help the Mississippians conquer the northern tribes north of them, but a stronger gathering of tribes, called the Choctaw, spread fear among all the soldiers in Mississippi.

The rival tribes outside the empire slaughtered the Burgundian settlers, sent to claim lands around the already-prospering empire.

Through alliances and unity, the Normans are able to expand their empire almost immediately, boasting of the largest empire on the planet. The new lands and population add the production of the empire, increasing the economy as a side effect.

Barbaryian expansion was not welcome by the rival tribes who also claim North Africa as their land. The soldiers of Barbary had to fight for what land they gained, conquering many tribes, but loosing warriors as well. At the same time, a temple much like that of in Bangkok has begun construction and is expected to take close to 400 years to be completed.

Through an alliance signed with Uruk and Girsu, Sumer has expanded as well, into the Mesopotamian lands between the two rivers. The army is also increased because of this joint operation. A great wonder has also started in Ur, expected to take 500 years to complete the grand ziggurat.

The Nile was open for the taking, Egyptian settlers pour into the river basins. The production is also increased due to the expansion and the absolute fertility of this great river, this bloodline of Egypt. Trade with the Nubians far south is achieved, the first real trading in the world.

---OOC---
It’s about 2 men per canoe right now.

100 years per turn.

Emu, remember to say how to increase economy. Its much harder, btw, to increase economies in this game by simply building roads and such, you should conquer or expand to grow economy.

Azale, there really isn’t trade, so your Wonder can’t be built right now. Trading now consists of very very low scale gifts and bartering.
