stMjMNES1:First Blood

Grr, random losses of army training. That annoys me.

Um, does anyone have a war I can sign onto?

*string of Yiddish curses*

Kabinemat (or is that just in Hebrew?)?

Anyway, MjM will have plenty of time to finish the update, so its not 100% for the worst.

Das, are you in this NES? If you are, then I need to send the update to ya.

I intend to join, so you might as well.

What the heck? Absolutely nothing happened to my country, not even an expasion although i ordered it! What's the matter?

Every mod makes that kind of mistake one time or other.

Oh, and das, who are you intending to join as?

Oh, and das, who are you intending to join as?

Why should I reveal it so soon (besides, I'm waiting for the stats to be updated...)?

Give MJM a break he was out of his house for most of the past week or more and has been busys helping with whatever construction was going on. I am sure he will fix any major mistakes by the next update and if not don't worry about it.

Mjm was supposed to be unbanned today. We his slaves will wait for him until his return... :D

OK before i do that, heres the update for all too see without digging through PMs. Map too.

OOC: Notice that I did give an eco level per trade center this turn, i meant to write that in the one i sent out, but forgot. But when you do your orders and look at the stats when im done, that will stand.

Domestic Events

Well in the extreme west where Carribeana is, there is quite a bit of war and chaos. Not much concerning domestic issues anyhow.

Britain has just counqered the kingdom of Begunum, and is getting her lands under her more direct control. The army is increased a little bit, as is Education. The people are very happy, while their neighbor, Flavia isnt taking any chances. They launch an invasion of Britain. More on this in the war section.

The Vandals finally begin to invest into some needed infrastructre. People celebrate as the new roads link many cities with thier capitol. Though some people fear this rapid change, a vast majority welcome it.

The Umbarians are happily working on thier port, and build some new roads. People cry for war or expansion of some sort, the army grows weak with each passing season. (-1 training)

The Carthiginians establish a series of mints, and are the first nation ever to mint a currency, (one for their nation anyway). This helps the Economy quite a bit, and people feel a new sense of nationalistic pride as they see their new emperor's face etched into the coins. (+1 Economy +1 Culture)

Then we take a sharp turn up north. (OK NK, Im terribly sorry, but I completely forgot your nation's name! I feel stupid. I will still give you a lengthy intro though, no name. :mischief:) Theese peoples are a warlike people, with many interal feuds quite frequently. They are first and foremost a seafaring peoples, and enjoy fish, and an acholoic beverage called not-liquor-or-vodka (:p) Their land armies are fearsome, but arent quite as feriocious as the surronding Woods people. They have a bright future if they manage to find other peoples who try to be civilized like themselves, or maybe ferioucous Vikings...

The Calabrians are having surging feelings of patriotism (see millitary events) (+1 Confidence) They also start a new wonder.

Thessaly has ceased to exsist (see Millitary events) so the Athenians celebrate at the long awaited death of their rival. (+1 Athenian Confidence) Dalmatia decides to call itself a nation now, mainly because of the riches from the Thessalian land they hold, and the deserters from Calabria (see Millitary Events)

Byzantium continues fleshing out after the Pontic wars. It has an abudanat amount of trade reaching it, and perhaps with better roads to other foreign nations, it could take advanatage?

Rasit doesnt do much of anything. The King whines and whines, then dies all of a sudden. (:p)

Persia expands greatly, and the People proclaim a golden age. Artwork, poems, and things of all sorts are written and documented. The army is strong, the people happy. (+2 Education)

Mekaians try expand a little bit, but finally decide to invest some money into infrastructre. It is well spent, although not enough. (Light areas are areas that are under lighter control, darker under heavier control.)

Millitary Events

The Cubans, or the Caribs as they affectionally call themselves, have decided they dont take a like to their Veran neighbors, or as they affectionally call them, foes.

They invaded from a fast attack tactic in the North and South. Whilst most of the Veran army was out counqering new islands to the southwest, they striked fast. The Verans returned to find their capitol in seige, almost taken. With most of the army back, and the Veran Navy prepared, they are still a formidiable foe.

(-4 Veran Hundreds -1 Veran Ship -5 Carib Hundreds -2 Carib Ships)

In the west the Carthiginians expand greatly, almost doubling the size of Carthage. This great gains was not without loss though, or new found enemies.

(-7 Carthignian Hundreds -2 Dragon Guard Hundreds)

Up north in Britain, the British and Begumenians invade each other at the same time. Or rather Begunum attacked them and they retaliated in the wrong direction. The Beguminians are across the river from London, while the British army has cut off Cornwall from the Begumnian capitol.

(-11 British Hundreds -3 Frakjuk Hundreds -16 Begunumian Hundreds)

The Thessalian situation continued to get worst to point of no return.

The Thessalian generals all suddenly die of a freak disease. The Calabrian marine force which landed in Thessaly years ago grouped up with some Dalmatians. They drived straight through the heartland of Thessaly. With superior numbers and training they destroyed 2 differnt Thessalian armies. Then Athens decided to invade as well, to attack their old foe, and for some land. Most Adriatic countries, including Egypt, then began to take a peice of of Thessaly. The Calabrian La Legioni were stranded for so long in Dalmatia, many defect to the new Dalmation state. It has emerged because of great wealth gained from Thessaly and a new found pride.

(-13 Calabrian Hundreds, -Thessaly, -13 La Legioni Hundreds, -7 Athenian Hundreds, -4 Egyptian Ships - Calabrian Navy -Athenian Navy +1 Calabrian Economy +1 Athenian Economy +Egyptian trade center +Thessalian trade center +Byzantine trade center.)

The Massagetes decided their vast empire, the largest on Earth (albeit very very decentralized) wasn't enough at their current state. They invaded one of the oldest nations on the Earth, Tharia.

They assumed they would be an easy nut to crack, so to speak, as the rest of their campaigns were. They were wrong. The Guntrans had longed love to use horses when they striked fear into India, although they are no more, the Massagetes taking their place. So even though their intial advances where very succesfull , they didnt manage to take as much as liked. The Tharaians took up the old fortifications the Mumbains built to defend from Guntran aggresion. They prove affective against horses and the Massagete commanders are in a pickle. They need a much larger force to effectively flank theese sized forts, and protect from the raudy tribes rebelling.

"Look, the barbarians are retreating!"
-Soilder on the Great Tsing-tsao wall

In 990 BC, the Clan of the White Wolf, fearless steppe warriors with a colorful past, launched the largest invasion the world had seen.

The horsemen came down like madmen from the mountains. Some say they attacked because of the endless harassment of the peoples of various tribes by the Chinese, others say blind greed. Whichever it was, it was a grand one.

The horsemen easily overran the newly acquired province of Huag He. The garrisons there were light and no match for the mobility and skill of the steppe horse warriors. They managed it all in 6 months. Then they ran into some unexpected problems.

The Qi had expected some sort of invasion, so they build the greatest fortifications perhapns since the walls of Hattuas. The way they were crafted were to prevent the horsemen to take them by suprise. It worked in stopping an invasion of the Qi Northlands, their Heartland. For a while anyways.

In December 988 BC the White Wolf cheiftains decided to strike into the heart of Qi they must destroy the Great wall of Tsing-tsao. They had devised a plan to try and lure the Chinese out, as the horsemens mobility have no effect in a seige. The plan failed horribly, and almost a thousand White Wolf warriors died in the failed cofusion tactic.

We leave this chatoic scene for a moment and go south, where most of the Qi armies are. They launched an invasion of Qin held Yue. The Yues are overstretched and badly outmatched , outgunned, and outnumbered. The Great Plains of Hzardagarrado fell easily under the Qi's war machine. The Yue had a tough time breaking the Qin seige on their capitol, which consumed most of their forces. The Qi couldve had most of China by now if the barbarians hadn't invaded.

Back up North the White Wolves decided to strike again, no matter the cost, they must break this wall. And so they did. 987 June 14 is called Doomsday or 戰士. The horsemen swept across the fertile flatlands of northern Qi, and ravaged the countryside. They took anything of value and left not a soul without harm. The White Wolves are currently on the outskirts of Tsing-Tsao itself, how long can they hold off?

To Tharian cowards:
From their mighty Massagete overlords:
You hide behind your walls and fortresses like scared little girls. You are not warriors. Surrender to us the lands east of the Indus valley (see attached map), and we will spare your heartland and your pathetic families from devastation and annihilation. Deny us our rightful spoils, and see your homes, villages, fields, and children burned to nothingness.
