I hadn't actually thought of that. I don't remember the last time I owned a rain suit though. If I'm being smarter than usual I remember to actually put on shoes/non-shorts pants/and some bug repellant. You guys had enough rain up there to have cosmic levels of skeeters too? I'm not sure I've ever seen this many this early in northern Illinois.

Honestly, I haven't noticed them that much. A few attack my head when I pick around 5-6 AM, but I watched two fireworks shows over the weekend and don't recall getting bitten--they haven't really been bad this year.

Blueberries are a much better ingredient than strawberries. Much easier with which to work, more versatile, and tastier in most dishes.

What's the difference between american and european blueberries? I assume the American one is bigger...
The american variety (though extensively grown in EU too) is larger and more juicy/mushy, with a slightly less distinct taste.

Whenever I make my fruit smoothies, the blueberry skins tend to stick to the side of my blender and its a real pain to clean. So I'm going to have to go with Strawberries on this one. Raspberries remain the best fruit of all though.

In Michigan I haven't noticed them until about 2 days ago. I went outside yesterday around 8pm and came back with my legs itching like something fierce and in a bad mood.

Of course!

I suspect that if I listed every popular berry it would take away more from the blueberry vote than the strawberry.
Blueberry is my favorite popular berry even if you included them all. I like gojis too but never had one fresh. Strawberries are my least favorite besides mulberries.

I never knew a berry grower who felt that their life was meaningless or in vain. You just had to take one and you take it right direct from the plant, you just pick it off, it's warm from the sun and you just brush a little bit of the dirt off and then you...don't bother to wash it off, you just...eat it. That's gorgeous!

--A little something of which this thread reminded me.

In case it's not clear, my vote is for purple raspberries (black + red hybrid), particularly the ones from my backyard:

I love blueberries, and yes I love strawberries as well. When it comes right down to it, well its kinda like the ladies. Most are delectable but sooner or later ya gotta pick a favorite and stick. So it is. My advice is try em all first, make sure ya got it right, then settle. That's all I got to say about that.

Blueberries. :b:

I like raspberries and cranberries also, though, if we are talking other berries.
