I'm sorry. Well, two unhistorical goals then, while the usual "rule" is 1.The Andean road was a thing you know.

Yeah, that might be worth a look. Not sure if language settings are exposed to the DLL, but if it is I could always return English as language of choice regardless of config settings. Is there a way to make DoC use the English settings when opened in another language instead of displaying that "nothingness"? (if you dont know what I mean set your civ-language to anything but English and load DoC)
I tried setting my civ4 to English, even made the ini-file read-only but it still sometimes switches language and since I dont go "civ4 -> load a mod -> DoC" but instead start by loading the 3000BC-DoC-scenario that means I have to exit Civ and then go through the "long way".
When I first downloaded DoC this behaviour (since my client wasnt set to English yet) made me abandon DoC and play other mods instead (because I didn't know I could fix it that easily).
So including some sort of override might not only be a quality-of-life-improvement for people like me who sometimes get their civ-language reset but also could help interested "newbies" to civ-mods get to play DoC
There is no such rule. Also there isn't really an objective way to tell if the Inca had X gold in 1500 AD or anything. They sure had a lot of it.I'm sorry. Well, two unhistorical goals then, while the usual "rule" is 1.
Polynesia: Since both the 1st and 2nd UHV is historical, isn't it customary that 3rd UHV is usually less historical? I propose:
Be the first civilization that lands on South America
This goal is actually not alt-hist, just hasn't been accepted by mainstream archaeologist yet. (Ergo this goal is not unrealistic)
More explanation on the UHV proposal:
- Being the first civilization to reveal a map of at least 1 tile of South America, which means before Inca spawn
- There are more information is available regarding Chimu-Polynesia contact than Inca-Polynesia.
- You mentioned earlier that it is possible to reach SA by a city in Rapa Nui though it will require long time.
Some journals to solidify my proposal:
Polynesian and Oceanic Elements in the Chimu and Inca languages (by F. W. Christian, B.A.)
The bamboo raft as a key to the introduction of the sweet potato in prehistoric Polynesia (by Robert Langdon)
Easter Island was it really so isolated? (by Edward Pegler)
The name of Sweet Potato: A case of pre-conquest contact between South America and the Pacific (by William F. H. Adelaar)
This goal is unviable for two reasons.
First, it isn't possible to reach South America via Rapa Nui (or any other island) with the current 3-ring city radius cap.
Second, even were the map altered to allow for this, it is very likely that the Mayans would uncover a square of South America first.
