JFD's CiD

Suzerainty is a mod that ports Civ 6's Suzerain bonus over to Civ 5 as Ally Bonuses. Essentially: this mod will add an extra unique bonus that a player can receive when allied to a City-State. These powerful bonuses will boost City-States into the limelight: courting their favor becomes exciting and significant.

Additionally this mod aims to make City-States feel alive and distinct: diplomacy text will be greatly expanded beyond the few vanilla lines, City-State icons will be added in some contexts to give extra flavor.

This looks really cool! I'm looking forward to playing with this! Are there any dependencies such VMC or the CP?

It looks all Lua to me so I doubt it would require any dependencies.. which means the AI can't use them unless he somehow made them to(such as purchasing missionaries from the city-states)

It will require the Core CP.

Very interesting. Since it gives the city-states icons and new text, how does it handle civs that replace city-states?

It's gonna delete all City-States from the table, and then readd new ones from scratch; this will help avoid incompatibility issues. Some will be CSs from vanilla; others will be brand new nations.

May I suggest using the CS names from CCSMM? That would prevent conflict between city lists from this mod and mod civs (e.g., Jerusalem vs. Leugi's Israel).

I was thinking of doing something like this, but think I'll sit back and wait.

Looking forward to what you cook up, Sukritact!

Mods tend to resolve that themselves, and using a different list altogether might end up causing more issues than it fixes for the compatibility on the mod's side.

A beta version of this mod has been posted.

There are only half the amount of CSs of the Vanilla game ATM, which means while there are enough to play with thr standard amount of CSs on a huge mao, you may get issues going larger. There is no mod support ATM: the CS have neither Cul Div nor TSL support. The mod can work with JFD's CiD, but you won't be able to use the Claims feature of the mod.

sukritact updated Sukritact's Suzerainty with a new update entry:

Beta Update: More City-States

  • Added the ability to use the ESC key to exit the screen
  • Added support for CulDiv
  • Added a couple more City-States to the beta. Some cool ones include:
Sicán: You may spend [ICON_CULTURE] Culture to improve your [ICON_INFLUENCE] Influence with City-States other than Sicán.
Göbekli Tepe: May spend [ICON_PEACE] Faith at Göbekli Tepe to build a random Religious building in one of your Cities.
Lindisfarne: +1 [ICON_RESEARCH] Science, +1 [ICON_PEACE] Faith from Great Works....

I made an account just to reply to this mod! I absolutely love it; how can it be that there is such little activity around here?

Is it possible to make the mod compatible with the claims feature added by one of JFD's mods? It would make the whole thing even nicer!

A little bug (? Maybe caused by other mods?) I've noticed: When encountering new a new CS, the popup will, for example, state that they gift you 45 gold. This is incorrect however, in reality you only receive 4 or so...
Mods im using:
-CP + CBP + CSD + Civ4DF + More Luxuries + CBOverhaul - Comp files (Vox populi)
-Community Events v3
-JFD's Cities in Development v55
-Global Warming v7 + Congress v2
-Emigration v6
-JFD's Exploration continued expanded v20
-JFD's Rise to Power v30
-JFD's Cultural Diversity v13
-JFD's Event Compendium v4
-Sukritact's Events and Decisions v3
-Wondrous Nature v2
-Extra victory conditions v1
-Militia Defense v14
and Sukritacts Suzerainty :)

Greets!

JFD has stated that he wants to handle support himself, so expect an update from him that adds support in the near-ish future.

I'm using the same code as CP's CS screen to calculate Gold from CSs, so it's likely caused by some other mod and is not exclusive to Suzerainty.

sukritact updated Sukritact's Suzerainty with a new update entry:

Updated CSs and DiploList

The DiploList will now list a CSs quests. It will also update more responsively than before.

Added additional CSs, All Religious and Militaristic CSs have now been completed, and 10/14 of each of other types (Fertile/Maritime, Mercantile and Cultured) are done.

Maritime City-States have now officially been destroyed. They have been replaced by Fertile City-States. This is a purely cosmetic change.

YOU MUST UPDATE TO THE LATEST VERSION OF THE CP...
