Who is your most favorite military theorists? Those 3, or someone else? I like Jomini the most. I think his book is more complex and harder to understand, but a good one indeed.

I suppose he's more of a compiler than a theorist, but Vegetius.

Brannigan makes a strong case, but I'd probably rate Nikephoros Ouranos ahead of him

also Liddell Hart's military theory books involved some pretty egregious distortions of history so he could try to prove his point - he went so far as to claim that the almost purely frontal-assault battle of Hastings was won by his vaunted 'indirect approach' because the arrow that killed Harold was loosed by tactical indirect fire

Sun Tzu.
Clausewitz never herded two of every animal onto a boat, and he certainly did not kick the crap out of them.

I'd like to mention Miyamoto Musashi and his Book of Five Rings.

Greatest book on war ever, but the most brilliant military theorist of all time.

"In the game of chess you can never let your opponent see your pieces."
"Those dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Check mate."

Of the three, von Clausewitz is superior, but there are better theorists.
