They had an almost entirely Nordic population with few Jews. The Dutch received similarly preferential treatment, though there were far more Jews in the Netherlands.
Just to elaborate. Denmark was also used as a propaganda example of how a good occupied nation should behave towards the nazis. And actually there were a sizeable jewish population 3-4000 I believe here in Denmark but we got them all to Sweden before the Nazis could do anything to them(dont take away the only thing we as a nation can be proud of during ww2

But both countries were/are very homogeneous and we sort of saw the futility of waging war against such a military(although in Norway there were terrain that made guerilla warfare possible) Denmark is retardedly impossible to defend if you dont have a superior navy and even then a very cold winter can make that useless

Also I believe most of the german soldiers occupying the nordic countries were normal wehrmacht soldiers and not ss-fanatics. I remember my grandfather telling stories about he as a kid liked the german soldiers because they brought chocolate and candy and were quite friendly.
Sidequestion: I believe I read somewhere that Denmark was not included in the Jalta-agreements and it was basically a race between the Brits and Soviets. Is there any truth in that?
