Sw4 - Waterworld C3c1.22

Yeah I didn't think about the obsolesence of the GW. Cuzco should fall next turn though. Raze it so it won't flip and keep haunting us.

Also there are some silks in the SW of Incan territory. If the 8 knights are enough then send the other 6 down to capture those cities down there.

EDIT:: Do we want to stop research all together now or do we want galleons?

I'd like to have Galleons, if only to be able to transport those Armies we have languishing on the mainland.

Well in that case switch science from Banking to Magnets or just wait a couple of turns and get banking first.

Do we want Navigation to get MAgellans? We could use Newton's as a pre-build for it. It would get our boats an extra movement which could be usefull when tracking down boats and/or crossing the sea.

I vote for galleons and count on Bede's tech trading prowess to keep us up to speed. Are all the disbands done? Has anyone looked at what % of the world we are?

I don't think that we need to keep up currently everone is behind all of the way to Education. There's a long way for them to get to Rep. Parts.

According to MapStat, tiles => 31.7% (656 tiles to domination)

EDIT:::Regarding the disbands, I disbanded a few troops but left some for defensive deterent. There was an Aztec galley wandering near our territory and it looked like Monty was thinking about dropping off a few miscreants and starting a scuffle.

First off it's time to play "Let's make a deal":

SW04001.jpg

And then "whack an Inca". We have silks to go with the saltpeter .....one an aphrodisiac, the other an anaphrodisiac :crazyeye:

SW04002.jpg

Ollantaymbo is is on the road to "The Slot" between Arnhem and Vilcabamba.

Cuzco is a little tougher and I retreat to Corylhuayrachina to heal upand await reinforcements. I end up one knight short facing a very tough pike, though none were lost.

SW04003.jpg

Somewhere along in there capture Vilcabamba and in 800 take Huamanga.

SW04004.jpg

During the retreat from Cuzco the Inca send maces and longbows to harry my flanks. They steal a pack of workers, but I reclaim them and get Henry Hudson, the answer to a Dutch Boy's prayer.

SW04006.jpg

We now have a healthy cavalry army on the way to Cuzco.

Meanwhile on the home front I am buying luxuries from Monte for coin then selling him technology to get the coin back.

SW04007.jpg

Then I hire him for silks and money to go play with the Inca. He wants us to fight the Maya for him, but, hey, that's his problem.

SW04005.jpg

During the build up to attack Cuzco I shut research off and cranked entertainment spending up to minimize waste in the towns building big buildings.

Amsterdam has three turns to go on Copernicus to get Smith's when Economics comes in in two and Rotterdam will finish the Pentagon on the IT.

There is a second army (empty) on the way across "The Slot".

SW04008.jpg

The Cavalry army supported by cannon and some elite singletons is almost in place at Cuzco.

SW040011.jpg

The Inca keep sending mosquitoes into the mountain chain to the the east of Coryville, but they have to cross the grass to do any damage so I just let 'em the kill 'em in the open.

I don't think any research past Magentism will help us finish these losers off. Smith's will be a key part of our strategy though as it will help stave off the war weariness which is starting to get nasty in the towns not connected to the trade network. Free harbors will be a big help, there.

will play tonite.
very nice turns, mastermonk, as always.

Don't forget the Lighthouse obsoletes with Magnetism. Our nice little chain will stop working for Galleys then - so get some Caravels up and running.

Inca Express is equipped with a half a dozen caravels already, no worries.

@AdmK, just tell her to put saltpeter in your milk. :D

sw4 sw 850ad

pre turn - its so boring playing after you, bede. no MMing todo at all. really, have some consideration ;)

IBT - inca want peace, or else. elsewhere?

1- Pentagon arrives in Rotterdam > bank, Roosendaal setter > worker, Hague bank > uni, Liverpool caravel > aqua (+MM for more growth), Den rower aqua > lib, disperse a barb camp while redlining a LB. i think my next game will be called "lets kill the barbs"
the Cuzco front: army kills 2 spears losing 5hp, press on with a E cav lose 3hp to a 3rd spear, kill a 4th, and a 5th, 6th, and atlast 7th reg is out and we have SISTINE
lower sci & lux to 40 each. now only -4gpt.

2- Inca disconnect our gems :( revenge will soon be mine.
Economics in > magnetism (50 lux, 50 sci. -114gpt, due in 6)
misspress ENTER. alarms ring and bells holler - STOOPID IMP
now Copernicus comes in. think about replaying, decide not to. mistakes happen.

3- resistance in Cuzco ends, while i heal up.
Amsterdam starts Smith's (in 24), Atlanta settler > worker, Huextola harbor > temple,
Aztecs building BACH's
lose a cav in Vitcos, take it with the help of 3 other cavs.> temple,

4- Leiden cav > cav,
troops healed up, while i strave Cuzco for cash via taxmen, press on.
Army takes Machu picchu. Arquipa is taken with 2 cavs, get 3 more slaves. move troops upfront.

5- Bedenhoven cav > cav, Chicago lib > uni, Vilcabamba harbor > temple, Tilburg aqua > lib, Tepelaxtoc harbor > temple, breda settler > settler,

IBT - lose 1.5 cavs to an incan counter attack by LB's

6- Hastings > temple, Utrecht cav > bank,
Andahuaylas falls to our mighty leader, Nasca falls with the help of 2 cavs landing us 3 more slaves,
the Aztecs are sneaking some troops onto our land. planning anythig funny?

7- Rotterdam bank > uni, Haarlem court > lib,
Ica (current incan capital) falls flawlessly to the mighty mighty army, 2 slaves added.
Aztecs move even closer with those LB's.

8- Magnetism in > Theory of Gravity. lower sci to 0% as we cant sustain it. will save some bucks before pushing back up.
now making 171gpt
Holwerd harbor > temple,
upgrade some caravels. now i can move that parked army
Tepexpan is autorazed after our cavs have a small party with the local girls. boy, can they party.

9- those Aztecs were just homesick, lucky for them im a patient person.
Seattle worker > temple, Oxford settler > galleon, build New Hague > worker,

10- London harbor > galleon, Bedenhoven cav > cav, Eindhoven bank > uni, Leiden cav > bank, Saltpeter stealer waorker > harbor,
Ixtapaluca is taken,

we have a sleeping caravel near the new capital, a tiny 2 tile island (JULI)

the FORMER INCAN EMPIRE

attachment.php

only one more town to take on the mainland.

all the temples are either prebuilds or culture pushers.

remember to raise the sci slider up as it is now set on 0.

otherwise, sorry for the smith's blurp. it will be ready in 17.

Aztecs are now our top rivals with a third of our pop and land.

enjoy.

mine, all mine (maniac laughter) oh sh**, another edged weapon incident while :bounce:. off to the ER. tomorrow.

If you're sleeping, how exactly are you supposed to stop the bed bugs from biting? ;)

Well, I haven't looked at the save yet, but it appears we are far ahead of everyone else. Who should we attack next? I think we should take out the Aztecs now, since they are the strongest after us.

if you will look into the manual for upcoming civs you will find on page 43 the following paragraph
"the best offensive you can make is nothing like having someone else bleed for you.
just bring in the Hittites, they would get rid of the Bittites

read my mind.
like the saying goes "never trust an aztec with a nuke"
and those homeboys really pissed me off.

and yes, we are top dogs now. :D

[offtopic] just starting my first demigod game. will do the gerries on a 60% pangea. will see how long i last, but if the improbale happens will aim for conquest.

Recon: turn off aninmations. Land a kinght at Juli

Early: fur and spice deal with Monte ends. Change hague to army. Take teayo.

Middle: change rotterdam to palace. build some cities

Late: alliance with Monte finallly runs out. cancel it. cancel wines deal with Monte. Take Juli. Pach is gone. play with science, see no need to really hurry.

Smoke and Monte are at war. Monte has MT, Smoke doesn't. Smoke appears to be winning. We're better set up to take on Monte. all I ready did was fill in some of the gaps and build roads. Look carefully at Monte's east and south coasts, there's military floating on boats awaiting D-day. Also need to harborize the fur city.
