Speculation of Data Excavations relating to the Second Age Empires

What is BioTech? What is CyberTech?
In the Second age, they were expressions of a form of rebellion from mainstream culture. A mainstream culture that had descended into decay and ruin. They were not alone in this rebellion, many were the ideological movements that the death of the Second age spawned but for the Kations these are the most important.
Often they would revolve around a cult of personality; of a genius who had unparralled abilities with manipulating either the Infomative World around him or his own Genome. Others were built on MegaCorporations or governments that had been heavily influenced by lobbying groups. Anyway it is looked at these societies became the mainstream. For all this rules existed on how these new societies interacted with each other but they often came down to a final immutable ideological difference. For instance the belief that CyberTech was superior to BioTech or vice versa. And these differences resulted in terrible wars, over petty nothings, academic disagreements.
However the Kations were not birthed by the conquest of one over the other. For when one area of science moves forward so does the other. Who is the better society? The CyberTechs who pushed for the teaching of Relativistic Quantum Field Theories as part of the primary school syllabus to better improve the machinery around them or the BioTechs who were able to modify the human genome to the extent that this was possible? Where one tried to gain a decisive advantage its goals were always met with the assistance of the other. The Exploration of these fields as a common goal for humanities future had been overlooked in the confusion over what the CyberTech or BioTechs vision of humanities future had been.
So What are CyberTech and BioTech? In the data recordings it is heavily implied that they both imply a loss of humanity as the boundaries of what it means to be human are blurred. But apart from the disastrous experiments done by the Diamond Networks Eudaimonists[1] the humans sense of self has remained remarkably resilient in the face of rapid technological change.
[1] A rather morbid reference to some of the worst ethical and moral experiments known to have existed (well, on the public networks).
ooc: so some of thats not true; some of it IS true and some of it is thought to be true.
