Taliban Prisoners revolt

I think it's a pretty safe assumption that prisoners were not being well treated.

As usual, Redwolf's bias and propaganda fail him. Interveiws with the survivors of the revolt show his assuptions false. The first suicide grenade occur as soon as the prisoners arrive there. The revolt was triggered by searching the prisoners for more weapons. All this confirming the same as stated witnesses including journalists witnesses days ago. Most be boringly predictable living in a private world where predonceptions dominate over news from the real world.
The survivor's surrender was accepted even after they revolted, killed guards, held out for days in a basement, and fired on an wouned international red cross workers taking stock of the dead and wouned prsioners.

Hi everybody! :)

I just read that one of the captured Taliban soldiers who fought in the prison rebellion says he is an American. Something about a 15 min. conversation with Newsweek. The prisonder is supposed to be from back here in the Bay Area.

Just thought this thread was a good place to post this.

I'd heard that. It is said that his name is John Walker, and that he is a native of Washington, D.C., and that he converted to Islam and went to Yemen at age 16 to study Islam, then wound up in Pakistan to help the poor, according to his parents. It's said that he he was drawn to the Taliban there because he supported their way of things, and wound up fighting with them.

Now, all sorts of legalties are arising because at this point, I don't think the authorities really know what to do with him. It is thought that he might be tried for treason, or he may be turned over to the Justice Department if he is found to have committed criminal acts. I think that one of the things that they are trying to figure out is if he was aware that he was fighting against American troops. Strangely enough, he cannot be brought before a military tribunal because he is an American citizen. If you knowlegeable folks out there (Lefty, AoA, Joespaniel) know more, please enlighten me. Most of my info, I got from NPR and the BBC.

I must admit that it really blew my mind to hear of this. I must admit also that though I am a peacemonger, my initial reaction is one of profound anger towards this person.
