I'm not sure that the talismans give direct abilities; the improvement of night abilities based on a RNG of a talisman (from OP) is for the townie abilities, and I don't think some talismans are really "abilities" granted.
I would suspect the dog/horse--which relate to immunity/instant healing--are hardly "Abilities" to be used.
I also assume that there are 12 talismans, and not things like "fake" ones going around (I read some of the wiki, as well as watched some of the show when it aired, and there are some semi-fake things iirc. Things like the character viper--who is a thief--gave a fake talisman after stealing the real one).
Or things like the snake talisman (which viper stole) probably isn't directly related to her ability of [presumably inherent] thieving. Perhaps modifies or adds benefits, but isn't necessarily the ability granter.

The number of talimans mafia owns = the number of townies with 'intrnsic' abilties (i. e. not gained thanksto tlisms)
can any talisman geek tell us, how many characters without talismans can we have as a town? (i. e. how many important or semi-important characters from this show didnt have talismans)

I haven't watched the show in years, but IMO astral projection (the Sheep Talisman) would sound like a good tracker-ability-giver.
And I think the Mafia have a talisman already.

How many votes are we going to put on a guy for a mistake? A mistake that a mafia member who had just killed the subject would not likely make? Think about this for a second…
That's not really telling us much, aside from that you have a talisman (which we could have easily guessed) and it can be Upgraded with another one.
Anyone have any ideas what talisman might upgrade other talismans? I haven't seen the show in a while, and I never watched it much even when I did watch it.
I don't like the pileup on Jarrema. The place holder thing was never meant to be serious, and the later posts feel town to me, especially from someone for whom English is not a first language.

Well I questioned jarrema in private and his explanation of the upgrade actually makes sense. I'll with hold the specifics for now.
But the things I'm curious about right now as well are looking at the update (bsmith had his head pretty smashed up---perhaps the "super strength" talisman ox is with the mafia?). I would anticipate clues about the mafia--such as a fire kill with the dragon talisman--could be a possibility. Since the mafia can steal talismans, they probably are targeting specific ones.
Also, although unlikely, there is a possibility the tiger talisman (yin/yang stuff) is actually broken into 2 halves right now with 2 different people having it.

Well in the show you could use the rabbit talisman (super speed) with the rooster talisman (levitation) to allow you to fly, so one of those seems the most obvious for upgrading talismans.
Or he could have one half of the tiger talisman (balance). In the show it seperated people into a positive and negative half. I think it's extremely likely that someone has used it, before the game started, with one half being on the town's side and one on the mafia's.
