Tancredo: If attacked, bomb Mecca!

Wait. You're actually advocating millions of your fellow countrymen's death through a terrorist attack just so we have the justification to invade the Middle East? How does this jive with your "Christian" outlook (please don't be a dispensational millenialist.)

Threads more than a month gone. Or is crusing old threads to troll me for being a christian a hobby of yours?

If we are attacked with nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons, or any other form of attack that would kill massive numbers of Americans, then it would be my policy to launch a counterstrike that would destroy Medina. A second attack, would prompt me to order the complete destruction of Mecca.

I sort of agree - These more unsophisticated nations have forgotten the true power of the West.

Sadly our cowardly shopkeeper leaders have not the guts to prosecute a total war.

...

EDIT - Oops! Never realised this was an undead thread!

Good thing such an attack is neither necessary nor suitable. The concept of a total war, in today's politically multipolar, and economically interdependent, world is obsolete.

That's what they said in 1914. I'll believe it when I see it.

it isn't trolling, it's pointing out how you'd barter human lives so tactlessly. and that's coming from a person who IS a christian but doesn't represent all christians any more than you do. So please stop strawmaning, we aren't trolling you for being christian, we're expressing (rightful) indignation at your willingness to sacrifice a million of our people so that we can satisfy your bloodlust of ten million more "enemies"

I should have cited the source, sorry. It's a t-shirt place. Actually, I was looking for 2 different t-shirts: "New Mexico, Cleaner than regular Mexico" and "Canada, America's Hat" for other threads, but I can't find that t-shirt place now.

However, if you were honest enough you would realize that I am not willing to sacrifice a million people. Thats why its trolling. Taking my comments out of context and then continuously making references to my faith in regards to it is trolling regardless of what you may think.

Its just you and people like you exercising their continual intellectual dis-honesty towards christians like me. No more, no less.

"Canada, America's Hat!"

But that 'nuking Mecca' is evil, imho. We don't really live in a world where just statements are constructive

Don't hats keep the brain warm though?

They also divide the Griffendorfs from the Hufflepuffs.
(But don't let the Republicans or Democrats know that)

1. I don't understand why you think I would troll people for being Christian since I am a follower of Christ myself. Don't hide behind "oh it's those atheists hatin' on christians again" façade.
2. I hadn't realized this thread was dead; Pasi had linked to it in #fiftychat so I decided to go post on it without regarding the date. So I apologize for that. :p

I am not "exercising my continual intellectual dis-honesty towards christians like" you, I haven't brought Christianity up at all. I was appalled at this part right here: "However, I do wish the terrorist would be so utterly stupid as to do something on that scale right now while we have a huge advantage", where it seems that you're condoning an attack on our people just so you can call the manuevre bull-headed and then use it to satisfy your bloodlust. You lobby for nuking Islamic holy cities all you want, but keep American lives out of this.

And that was said with the understanding that such a conflict is unavoidable. Its all about context. If such a war is unavoidable, that is, it IS going to happen, wouldnt you rather it be sooner than later when our enemies are far more capable of killing more of our people?

Bottom line, I hope such a conflict never, ever happens. But me stating that if it were inevitable, I would want it to happen now instead of later isnt some outrageous line of thought.

Again, I am sure I can scan everything you say and take a single sentence out of an entire debate merely to make you look like an ass. However, it would probably be very much out of context with what you meant.

Since, I have tried to clarify this over and over and you STILL insist on trying to take what I said out of context.....is why you are intellectually dishonest. Now that I have clarified this, again and again, put it into context and be done with it.

To be fair, it's really hard to understand what you mean. Well, it's hard to interpret what you're saying in a charitable light.

I understand that your statement is couched in the term "if it's inevitable", but your opinion is that it IS inevitable, no? So "If it's inevitable, better sooner than later" becomes "in my opinion, I'd prefer it happen soon".

This then leads to all kinds of strange assumptions. That said, you won me over with this.
Sigh. While I knew this already, but am experiencing it in this thread in spades.

Communication be hard.

If only we were all around a table, beers and poker cards in hand, I could make it plain to all of you using hand gestures.....

If all I have done is confuse people with my thoughts, then I humbly apologize. I know what I have there in my head, but seem to be having difficulty in expressing it so that my opposition clearly understands me.

I can understand the emotional reaction of Tancredo that would inspire such comments. The hope is that time would sooth such outrageous sentiment, but the fact he keeps saying it proves his is unfit for public service.

Like others have pointed out. Our destroying Mecca would only make the United States a pariah for generations to come and inflame hatreds. I don't believe it would solve any problem.
