Fortunately for you my system ran into some serious heat-problems.

My system ran into my wife - who turns it off occasionally to save electricity!

Grrrr!

My system ran into a solid roadblock, in the form of a WU that went to 99% complete three times and aborted each time. It has now started on a new WU, and its first attempt at that has also failed at 99%.

Here's the dreaded log entry ...

So that's about 3 days wasted folding time so far, and by the time the current WU has failed three times I'll have over 100 hours of wasted CPU time to my "credit". That's about 7000 points down the tubes!

To add insult to injury, the Stanford forums seem to be delivering blank pages, so I can't even rant over there ...

For any of you that use them, the Stanford Folding@Home forums are having problems currently. The following is posted on the f@h forums home page, but may be invisible to you until you do what it says

It appears that the database driving the forum software is having a few problems with its tracking of sessions.

If you are currently browsing as a guest, be that as a new user, or a registered one, do not try and login at present.

If you do try and login you will most likely be presented by a blank page, and any subsequent visits to pages on this forum will cause the same thing to happen.
If this happens to you, you need to delete the session_id cookie for forum.folding-community.org, the name of the cookie is phpbb2fah_sid, then restart your browser to make sure.

As long as you remain as a guest user, you will still be able to browse the forums, and you can track the progress of this problem in this thread: http://forum.folding-community.org/viewtopic.php?t=20820

Users who have set their profile to "Remember me" should not be affected by this problem and can post as normal.
It might be useful if members who can see this post, repost it in their home forums, just to let people know whats going on.

So I am doing what is suggested in the last paragraph.

Please note that I had to delete BOTH forum.folding-community.org cookies in order to get in and read the f@h forums. There's a _sid one and a data one. After that you can get in, but only as a guest with no posting privileges.

I finally built that desktop I mentioned a while back, so I've started folding again. Athlon 64 X2 4600+ running 24/7, so it should get some work done I was surprised to see that I was still #42 on the team ranking after almost a year off.

I'm still folding though I've run into some problems and my rate has slowed somewhat below it's usual slow pace (no dual cores here!). Think the time for a new PC is getting much closer. At least there is one advantage to civ not using all the cores available - you can fold on the others!
