Check the Stanford web site. They publish information about their research progress.

I appear to have joined, though the site is in an update currently.

K I been folding for another team for a year but I left that forum. So I'll sign up to Team CFC again. It's all good anyway. :)

In at number 61 with a bullet. :)

I's still here in spirit if not computational power. Expect the OP update soon :D

!!!! Red Alert !!!!

What's happened to Sahkuhnder? His output has dropped from 7000+ points per day to a few hundred.

Meanwhile, the good news is that RFHolloway has broken through the 100K ceiling :goodjob:

Ahaha darn I missed that :) Thanks!

Well my brother is in town, and the folding time has taken a hit recently due to the extended PES sessions... and with the release of GTA4 in a week, I don't expect to be back at 1,000 points per day any time soon.

Looks like I'm done for on my home PC for a bit. I've been tootling along on my old Windows ME system, knowing that I'm going to have to get a new PC soon, but just not having the money to do so. Until last night that is. I've been running the v5 console version as I find that more stable than any others, last night it turned in a WU and downloaded another along with a new core (7c). It then promptly told me that it wasn't compatible and I should upgrade my PC . I'm going to have to spend some time on the stanford forum to see if there's a way round it, but looks like my PC is going to get a rest for a while. At least my father's is still folding for me!

Now I just have to keep my eyes off the nice little quad core intel system overclocked to over 3GHz that I've spotted and try and save for something more sensible to buy. But it would fold nicely :mischief:

And given Sahkunder's recent slide and the fact that soon my highest-horsepower boxes are going to be back in production use and off the folding line, we need someone to charge forth and take the 5k ppd reins. :yup:

That was quick, problem solved with a post on the stanford forum, the new core has now been restricted to PCs running XP or better, so I shouldn't get one again. Apparently they didn't think there were any P4s running ME still!

They weren't the only ones. Heck, I didn't think anybody was still running ME.

Hi.

I'm a long time lurker at this forum and approximately one year ago I saw this topic. I thought "Hey! What a nice idea. I'll join." and so I did. I stopped running F@H on my PC half a year ago, because of the interference with Civ. But I had before that downloaded it and installed it on my new laptop, which is running Ubuntu linux.

And thus I forgot all about it. That is until today when I was browsing the forum (I'm supposed to be preparing for an exam) and saw this thread. I decided to check up on the team ranking and to my surprise I have crawled relatively high up on the list.

I also noticed that I'm not mentioned in the start of this post as a contributor, which makes sense as nobody here knows of me.

In short. I just wanted to make my contributions and presence known. And give thumbs up for the great site.

I always run both CIV and FAH at the same time without an issue, I think it marginally slows at the end of the game when there's a lot going on, not sure? But otherwise it seems to be more than happy to run both. And if you check my profile you'll see it's not a particularly high spec computer. Anyway it all helps ^.

F@H doesn't really slow CIV down. I could live with that. Instead it keeps minimizing my game every half a minute or so. But maybe I give it another chance and download it again tonight. I can always shut it down temporarily while I'm playing, which is to seldom nowadays.

That sounds strange, but keep an eye on this thread, I'm sure someone'll be able to help. I can't see any reason why FAH should interfere in that way? Anyway I'm sure everyone who's on the lists support is appreciated whether they are lurkers or not. :)

Hm. I downloaded and installed about a year or so ago, and promptly forgot about it. I think it was one of my computers that have since died. I'll subscribe to this thread to remind myself to reinstall when I get home. :)

I never had this problem with Civ3, but I don't have 4, which are you using? This has happened to me with a few other games, which is a known OpenGL(IIRC) problem that F@H can't fix. Installing the console version instead of the graphics seems to fix everything. It's not as hard as it sounds, there's good instructions on the F@H forum.

This is exactly what I just did. I tried installing the console version. I am playing a test game right now, and it seems to run fine. I've been playing for half an hour without interruptions. I'm playing Civ 4 btw.

Thank you for the help!
