Team Game #2 - OCC Conquest only

Do anybody want to continue? I picked up this and played a handful of turns.
Spoiler :
Units all over the place and it took a little while to get my bearings. Read the last few posts, and saw that Fippy recommended we move north/northeast to Brennus' core. I agree. It looks much more important to deal with him than to kill off Stalin. Brennus got some units about, so I get some of the way back and rest on a hill. This is the main stack Brennus has in the area.

He throws some of that stack at us, and thankfully we win all defensive combats, though one cav withdrew.

The economy is in tailspin, and I take up the advice of gaining more overflow and then one-turning a bank. It doesn't help a whole lot, but a little (+26:gold:). Don't recall what the plan was around the capital, but I converted another farm to workshop, and kept railroading. Not much else to do with the workers there, now when it's too unsafe to railroad in the open.

Oh crap. Bad news. Infantry :(

Our cannons won't have such an easy time now, relatively speaking. Genghis also gets into trouble, and actually loses a city. Denver falls to a Brennus counter attack. Brennus also poisons the well in Madrid. Really rude of him! Good thing we have traded for Biology, so it's easier to handle. Genghis could really use Infantry as well, so I sort that out for him.

Our main stack has arrived at Burgundian. Perhaps this was a mistake and I should have moved straight east, but my thinking was to clear some land and make it easier for Genghis to resettle the land, instead of Brennus and Stalin. Cannons only get 39% win chance, so we lose one or two here, but otherwise take the city without losses :)

This money was great, because we're bleeding dry.

I've gotten out some Artillery, mixed in with Infantry, because we'll need them now when Brennus has his own Infantry. Both attack Denver, but get 95% odds due to all those promos. CR3 artillery is no joke.

I don't want to take the city, though, as it will only get razed. Instead I leave one 3.0:strength: infantry left, and hope Genghis will grab it himself. Plan succeeds.
Spoiler :
Lincoln OCC-T259 Genghis retakes Denver.jpg

Here is the main stack. They've healed for one turn, so most units are in good shape and ready to move. Think it's time to head into Brennus' core. Maybe produce more artillery, which can then add to the stack?

Not sure if the city count gets updated when at war, but it doesn't look like Stalin has resettled (much) land yet. Now when it's safer near the few cities Genghis has left, I hope he will found some more cities. He has at least one settler. The far western barb city hasn't been taken yet either, but then they probably have rifleman defenders by now. But shouldn't have infantry yet (they can get that, right?)

Would be nice if somebody else wanted to play a little while. I've played quite a few sessions now, but the idea of the thread was that this is a team effort :)

They often don't settle new cities while at war :)

Agree with building just Artillery, ideally we don't lose many defensive battles (protected by MGs)
Could delete some workers and keep just ~4 in case something needs to be changed in Madrid, all routes seem covered by RR.

I guess there are no smart routes we can take other than Ndonda - Bagacum - Isca.
Would like to remove that city near Genghis even if splitting stacks means more work ;)

Will stop him from grabbing some land otherwise. Maybe older units (Cannons and Rifles are somewhat expandable now) should do that.

Great that you played on, Brennus having good tech keeps things interesting.

There are quite a few units in there (4 infantry and 5 cavalry, or something like that), but we also have two transports which can get some units right next to the city pretty quickly. Plus the two destroyers that have mostly removed cultural defence already. One of them used to guard our fish, but I figured if Brennus brought over 2000 destroyers, we wouldn't stand a chance anyway
Genghis doesn't have the units to deal with it really, although that is what I hoped, so best we do it yeah. Or alternatively remove most defenders and hope he takes it, like with Denver. Then he should be free to resettle some of the west and south. Sury is stuck on the island so probably won't be much help. Has at least taken that barb city, though. It sure took him a while!

Small idea: maybe gift away some workers to Genghis? Doesn't look like he has many left, and we don't truly need this many.

Much better idea to gift them indeed :)

I thought we can get some Cannons (2-3 could die) and Cavs to that city.
+2 Rifles to protect against his Cavs?
Units we are not sad about losing, and which are not missed that much in the main stack.
Cavs can catch up later easily, siege we have many.

Sure, if you think that is safe? He does have 4 infantry there. Most of our units are very well-promoted, tho, so even some Pinch cavs will probably get decent odds against countering infantry. There is the fresh artillery in Madrid too, but maybe best to use that againt Ngong-something, near Denver. With railroads most places, anything will catch up quick now, so that is handy.
