You don't need to, Animal Riding just requires one of them.

So what happens if you don't have to research the other 2 but an era or 2 later you gain a resource for one of them?

Are you saying that the 3 should be 1 tech that covers all Domestication of All potential riding animals? I could go for that. 2 less tech to spend research time on.

I believe he's saying it would be a super cheap tech to develop so many eras later but yeah, you shouldn't have to get Camel Domestication until you have access to Camels (or Llamas I suppose).

But Megafauna should be dependent upon Animal Riding Not the 3 Animal Domestication techs imho. And should come after Animal Riding in the tech tree progression.

No.

It's a tech that is all fluff.

That's because these things are unbalanced, especially in midgame and later.
That is these things doesn't have as much value as they should have.
I tried solving problem with gold and culture by cutting modifiers by 50% (gold) and 75% (culture).
Also flat yields from specialists and their modifiers could be lowered too.


By the way I'm back now, but appears there is serious problem with my router, meaning that internet is too slow and spotty to commit stuff....
I barely managed to update SVN - I had to prevent FPKs and PDB file from updating, insteas I repacked FPKs using these new tools.
Apparently some FPKs were deleted, and now I can't revert that due to very slow and spotty internet.

Maybe Megafauna should be one to the right and off of animal riding instead. As has been recently discussed elsewhere.
