I'm tired of these people advertizing their logos and other shows during programs. We're taking care of an elderly person with slight to moderate dementia and they're constantly distracted by the damn ads, they read them instead of watching the actual shows. I imagine there's quite a few mentally ill folks out there obsessing over these ads and I'm on a crusade to get companies to help by dumping the ads and making the logos less intrusive - for example, the Natl Geo wild logo could be their little gold box in the corner without telling us its Nat Geo right next to it, and they can drop the damn alpha dogs ad in the upper right.

I'm really pissed off about this and I'd like to tell the people who provide programming, but I dont know who to contact. I just tried telling Comcast but couldn't get past their robot, I called because I couldn't find an email address for suggestions on their website.

Wanna make the world better? Join my crusade :) Spread the word!

I'm sorry, did you say something? I was too mesmerized by the "New Episode of Housewives this Thursday!" ad in the bottom right.

Solution is simple: put on PBS.

Are we talking like if you're driving past a Slumberland store with your grandma, she looks at the sign and says "Slumberland!" ?

Huh, that's strange.

I mean, the ads are definitely annoying, but I never thought about it in terms of dementia sufferers, etc.

Not really sure what you can do. TV isn't set up for colorblind or other unusual people either. The ads are definitely lame, though.

I admit have never thought of this before. I kind of hate to say this, but perhaps it means you need to have different programming on then for him/her? Because while I think they are annoying, I don't see those banners coming down

If you consistently watch one channel, why not just tape a piece of paper over where the ad thingie is? It probably is in the same point all the time.

I'm glad I don't watch TV anymore...but anyone else notice how on youtube any video over a certain threshold of views has a 15 second commercial and lets say its a really popular video you wait like 30 seconds...(even if they are indy artists or just parodies they still have commercials)...I mean who gets a cut or does it all go to Apple and the other advertisers?

since when did the internet become the new billboard for Corporate America?

EDIT also my grandma has Dementia and I know what you mean.Sometimes I wonder just what see is watching...

What is this 'TV' you write of?

I can't find that site anywhere.

Must be something the dinosaurs use to do pre-astroid strike.

Are comments like "the internet is the new TV" really helpful for the situation of the OP?

That sounds like a pretty good idea frankly
