BTW,all this expansion without building or researching anything will hurt you later on :p

It is not Macedonia. It is Vardar!!!

And, I will start building once I have managed to unite most of Greece.

Let's hope your ambitions do not reach the ones of Alexander the Great, for if you are as successful as him many races in this game that I like will be doomed :p

You did unite Greece? You are the Empire of All Greeks per update 0. Now you are conquering non-greek speaking barbarians, or killing them and resettling their land. At least you don't have overpopulation problems.

I believe he means modern Greece or Megali Idea(Great Idea) borders(Asia Minor coast)

Yeah, thanks a lot.
:joke:

Contesting 220000 Hoplite business that the Greeks have got going. 220000 standing men army wielded by a Mediterranean faction in this time period is absolute nonsense, let alone an invasion force by 200000 men.

The Roman Republic could barely raise 86,400 men to defend against Hannibal in the battle of Cannae and this was with Roman conscription style military organization. Greek armies, as far as I understand it, is based on elite warrior class noblemen. While this leads to high quality soldiers, it has a crippling flaw-lack of manpower.

Pyrrhus may have won most battles against the Italians, but he could not replace losses as fast as the Romans could and thus was defeated eventually.

Even if we are to assume that 220,000 men army designates potential manpower output of the greek empire, 200,000 men assault army employed by the Greeks can not exist in this time period without there being massive drain on society.

Ok. I will have an army of 120,000 men, but no less.

Spoiler :
Name: Stahfla
Capital: Cold Harbor (in the crook between Norway/Sweden)
Government: Absolute Monarchy/Feudalism
Economy: Mostly Stagnant
Culture: Jingoistic
Religion: Paganist
Army: 5000 Raiders, 2500 militiamen
Navy: 77 longships

Recruiting heavily from amongst the ranks of the people, thousands of more raiders and dozens of longships are constructed for the great assault upon the Jutland in order to secure it for the glory of the Stahflan kingdom. Ten thousand raiders and conscripts, as well as sixty longships are constructed and prepared, while two thousand land born raiders and the militiamen of Stahfla march to their neighbors in Yasha, eager to wrest their nation from their grasp and break their backs in one fell swoop. With grain and lumber and much more stockpiled for the vicious winter ahead, and the raiders extremely knowledgeable about fighting in the winter and stealth in the blizzards, this will be a vicious and deadly fight.

They will not all die.

lurker's comment: Hey, everybody, look at this guy whining about realism in a game called "SilliNES Part 1: The Invisible Hand is In Your Pants!"

To be more exact, this is a guy who is worshipping Otters in a NES called SilliNES whining about realism while wielding cataphracts in late Bronze Age as the Otterman Empire.

I want to post something, but I don't have any inspiration. Can you give me a Role Playing challenge? :)

There is a difference between utter SilliNES and utter silliness. In this case, since Seon brought it up and Christos conceded, I will let christos choose a new number for you guys to think about. Which in this case is 120k. (OOC: >.>)

I will keep in mind they are mostly citizen-hoplite semi-conscript soldiers.

Only reason I'm even thinking about allowing counts of 100K+ is that a greek city state can field 5-10k by itself or with nearby allies. And he controls ALL of them. Just that the fact that they are citizen soldiers mean that their invasion is more like an exaggerated colonization/suppression deal.

EDIT: I would like to make this clear. When challenged, you have a choice to concede or to argue. If you make an argument, you have basically one chance to convince the challenger(s), and if the challenger isn't satisfied, one chance to convince me.

@ videonfan

Your society is seemingly constantly plagued by natural disasters like Hurricanes, Earthquakes, and Tsunamis. (yeah whatever, LISTS COME IN THREES) How do they view natural disasters and how do they cope?

EDITEDIT: Oh yeah, orders due in 3 hours. NO MERCY.

EDITEDITEDIT: On second thought, it was a dick move of me to post the update late. Orders due in 6 hours.
