Hats off to the moderators of CFC, for without their persistence chaos would run amok on these forums.

I just went back to IGN Boards not too long ago, to stroll down memory lane. I quickly took a turn at a four-way intersection and high-tailed it back here. Geez, they really ruined the place. They have banner ads four inches high, at the top, side, and bottom! They do have a Terms of Agreement, but what's with all the spam concerning sex and drugs? Very poorly moderated indeed.

But then, I was only in the "free trial" forum. I guess I'll have to pay the twenty bucks for their other ones to see if they're better.

With this in knowledge, I am most glad to be here, where the spam is kept to a zero and avatars are free! :goodjob:

Twenty Bucks for a forum?

What a rip off. I'm glad you like this site better, so less people troll and junk like that because they don't like the site. I bet the moderators are pretty overworked and would like this compliment.

TF deserves alot of recognition, because we don't have to pay! ;)
I think it would be cool if most of the US members on CFC all gave TF a dollar. He would get alot of money, and a dollar is the least we could do. :)

Not another I-love-the-moderators-so-much thread :o

Yes, mods do a good job, mods rule, they will deliver us from spam hell... (I hope this will do for the next 5 similar threads...) :goodjob:

Yeah - for me, it's good how mods can ban here. Keeps the place free of troublemakers.

I visit another forum where only the admin is allowed to ban, and the admin has since pretty much dropped out of running the board; doesn't visit very often. This one member runs amok through the board - he's been permanently banned eight times, but he keeps coming back, registering new free email addresses.

Everyone goes crazy and he knows only the admin can ban.

Heheh, yes I am a suck-up. :D

But so what! How about we close this thread now?

Actually, a BETTER solution is too remove trouble makers.

Your not exactly popular with my partners, best keep such comments to yourself in the future.

The mods here ARE awesome! Thanx! :D

No offense, but this forum is "Site Feedback" and Syrus_Knife was just making a friendly suggestion. :)

Here are two quotes from the forum rules...I don't think Syrus_Knife is violating the first, and I think he's acting in the spirit of the second (I could be wrong, but its how I see it):

Public discussions of moderator actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private. If it's not resolved or if you don't receive a reply from the moderator after 24 hours, you can then PM or email Thunderfall.

You are welcome to have opinions. You are welcome to question certain subject matter posted on these forums. You are welcome to dislike a certain post or disagree with it. Though we typically condone people to express their opinions and ideas, we have the right to delete yours if necessary, should we consider it abusive.

Syrus Knife, I have no reason to edit my post. Its not violating any of the Forum Rules.

I have not discussed any "moderator action", or protested any "moderator action". And I'm not saying that I don't like something a moderator did either.

All I was trying to do was resolve some miscommunication.

And I don't think any of the moderators on this forum are corrupt, they do their job fairly, even if some do sometimes sound a little mean. ;)

If AoA (or another mod) chooses to ban me, then I must be violating either 1) an unwritten rule of the forum, not listed in the forum rules, or 2) he is interpreting the rules that are given differently than I am.

No offense Pro, but the mods frankly don't care or follow the Forum Rules. Kinda like the politicians don't follow the constitution.

Let's leave this sparking flame here. I don't want anyone to get banned. :)

Like the Constitution, the Forum Rules are open to interpretation. Each moderator has to use their own discretion with regard to those rules. If the rules were too rigid, they'd be useless if a situation came up that wasn't directly covered by the rules. I think most, if not all of the moderators, do care about and try to follow the forum rules to the best of their ability. I do think some of the rules should be clarified a little better though, so there is less misunderstanding between poster and moderator.

If any mod will not follow the site rules, he will be removed as a moderator.

Some of the rules are very black and white - No Porn, no Warez, etc.

Others are open to a little more interpretation; the exact nuances are more subjective. This gives mods more freedom to make their forums a place people want to visit. The different forums each require a different "touch". I know I mod "Stories and Tales" differently than I do "Creation and Customization", which is different than "General Discussions", etc. All within the site guidlines, but I have the flexibility to mod them as "needed", not based on a strict list of "Thou shalt not"s.

Don't bother with syrus_knife, he's just being an ass because he hates aoa.

As far as changing the rules you can send some suggestions to TF on what could be changed, I'm sure he'd read over whatever you sent.
