I too received a nice invite and can't really turn it down, sorry about getting around to things a little late though. Of course I’ve caught up with the rules and think I have my PM in order but haven’t had time to check out the rest of the, erm, competition. Especially when I was gonna be a Bothan and only realized that wasn’t a possible choice just recently. So anyway, I present:
Neel Kur’tlumak

Neel Kur’tlumak was a native of Ryloth, a diverse yet unforgiving world shaped by desperate and trying times since the fall of the Republic. Like most of his people Neel chaffed under the doctrine of High Culture, but his response to the situation was more off the beat. As a poor and unfortunate youngster living on whatever he could obtain he was most desirous of great wealth. Over time and scandals and crises among his people, any compassion of his was drowned out by envy for what the humans had and he could not, and soon enough that envy bloomed into hatred. But greed for mundane riches turned into something far more as he grew, and discovered his aptitude for the Force. Above all, the power it represents could bring all the other desirable things in existence under his control, and only the Sith could teach those ways, to understand the real power behind the overbearing former Empire. He left his homeworld forever as he sought out every scrap of he could get his hands on. Neel eventually managed to secure his spot at this Academy through unknown connections and an unfortunate yet untraceable accident regarding another and is hungry for so much more.

Technician Third Class on the mining ship Red Dwarf Dave found himself the last surviving human after an unfortunate series of events involving a cat, Arnold Rimmer and a radiation leak. After numerous amusing encounters he spotted a swirling wormhole while piloting Starbug and popped in for a closer look. The wormhole took him to Korriban and he crashed Starbug into the planet, leaving him no option but to enroll in the Academy.
